“Expectations are premeditated resentments” something I read in a family therapy book a million years ago. It’s so true. Substack helps me not feel so alone. Our family is a mixed jab” family and it got real tense in august 2021 when everyone drew a line in the sand. Luckily we just moved on and accepted each other’s decision. Love is definitely the answer and i refuse to play divide and conquer.
I love this story 🙏. I think this story really highlights where we have gone wrong over the last few years. We've forgotten how to respectfully disagree with someone & retain the friendship. I think we tend to surround ourselves with people who agree with everything we think & say & shut out anyone with a dissenting opinion. I know I'm guilty of it, as much as I try to accept that people can & will disagree. Wonderful story 🙏.
I've been guilty of it too. What's great about the story is that it shows that the power to choose which sliding door we take remains with us in each and every moment. I might not be able to find the place she describes with everyone, but I'm going to need to find it with quite a few...otherwise I'll be left as a lonely guy writing a Substack.
No, I reckon at 32, he's got a long way to go in re-thinking his beliefs; he's still a young idealist and with many years ahead of him of learning through life experiences that may fundamentally change his views.

Here’s what I wrote to my kids: https://robertyoho.substack.com/p/an-open-letter-to-my-beloved-children. I would burn down my relationship with them if they promised they would never get another death Vax.
I'm the last of the Boomer generation on America, and not willing to give up my Constitutional Rights for a Democracy, socialism or any other ism.
This made me smile and brought a tear to my eye. And a fresh perspective in moving forward. Thank you.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
That's so nice!
Let’s hope he hasn’t been rendered infertile. I pray for my kids. Here’s the fertility issue in a nutshell: https://robertyoho.substack.com/p/127-im-father-to-a-murdered-son-husband#details

Yes, I'm having more and more surreal and artificial discussions with previously close people.
In my head, I find it best not to speak.
If I speak, someone will be pissed off, so it's just better that way.
In real life, I just piss people off.
You must be my personality doppelganger. I seem to piss people off by breathing. 😕😞
