My Eldest 52, had a TIA in October, took months to get Charity Healthcare to get him into a Cardio that the hospital wouldn't take their card. Another wait for a Baptist Cardio, Catheterization set up. A promise of a Social worker to get State Medicaid so the hospital and Dr would be paid. He had No job, No savings, No Insurance. The TIA was a $22K Bill. The Catherixation the Dr pulled out when he found four 85% left-side blockages. $25K. Still no State Medicad. The next day he's seeing the Bypass surgeon, One week later he's supposed to have the Quad Bypass. That got set off supposedly because of an emergency surgery, but was because of Insurance. A week later he was to be at the Heart Hospital at 5 AM, for surgery at 7 AM. We wait until Noon, He is now a Dehydrated and low BS patient. 5 hrs later we get to see him in ICU after I threw a Hizzy Fit, good thing I did, he was Choking to Death from the Trach Tube clogging up with COPDPhlegm, with Both Wrists TIED DOWN, Nurse was busy inputting info into her computer. They suction the Trach Tube, over and over again for 30 minutes. Before they remove it. We were Not allowed to stay with him for the first 24 critical hours.
Two days in ICU, 3 in a regular room, coupons for new very expensive heart meds Plavix generic and Jardiance. NO Insurance yet, despite social workers' promise. Then the Eye issues start. Med by med ruled out. It's the Anesthesia, Then why are you sending him to a Neurologist not a Retina Specialist? Ever look straight into the sun without protection, that is how he now sees. Did the bright surgery lights on open eyes or did 4 hrs of Dry eyes cause the damage, simple Artificial Tears could have kept the eyes moist, they nor we don't know. Both would cause bad vision. No bill for the Quad Bypass yet. Still no money for food or the meds he was on prior to surgery. Or the new ones. And Food costs keep going up.
Our healthcare system SUCKS and Biden is Cutting Medicare as he already Cut Tricare Life through the DOD.
