I know a young woman who’s IUD is MIA. She had surgery to remove it and when they got in there they couldn’t find it! And yes she will probably be infertile from the damage.
It gave me autoimmune arthritis. I didn't initially make the connection, as the previous one didn't cause any issues. I thought it was long covid. I suffered for months until I took it out and the pain disappeared overnight.
I can only imagine the effects on the embryos and fetuses who are conceived and do develop in a womb after removal of a copper IUD. That copper remains in the uterine tissues for who knows how long. If it isn’t enough to prevent conception, the baby is very likely taking on the neurotoxicity and DNA altering effects. Studies of babies and children born to these women whose fertility is no longer prevented? Or who conceive and carry the a baby with the IUD still in place? Does the copper absorbed while in the womb affect the future fertility of any children who survive. . .

Had one in the 80s. didn't last long as it made me bleed. Has it removed with no lasting damage.
