I know now why so many of my beloved pets passed away after seeing a pet doctor! Also, I now realize that even their food was poisoned by the pet food industry... How unfortunate I could not know then.
They do the same with babies. Promote baby formula that's poison with no nutrition whatsoever. If they're going to do that, what do you think they will do to animals of the 4-legged variety? It's sickening, is it not?
At 54 I got my 1st dog. My 4 sisters were all dog lovers and the youngest decided I needed to know the joy of dog motherhood. That small ball of fur did just that. Naturally he ate dog food (what did I know), until he didn't. Three days of no food, he wouldn't eat it. Desperation made me scrap off the dinner dishes and leftover fish on the stove to put it atop the dog food.
Noodles ate with gusto. My sister admonished me saying "never, ever give a dog people food". I started thinking, why not? What did dogs eat before the invention of kibble.
So, off I went. Trial and error. I let my dog tell me what he would and would not eat.
I cooked meat, added carrots, kale and lentils. A full dutch over lasted about 5 days. Gave him raw milk, he loved it. Would never eat an egg unless I hid it well, or crumbled bacon over it. Made cookies, jam packed with nutrients, dried fruits and olive oil. Perfect treat before bed. Perish the thought I ran out or forgot to give him one. He'd dead stare at me like, "have you gone mad, where's my cookie".
Unfortunately, I didn't know that rabies does not exist and took him to the vet for 5 years. Then I learned about that charlatan Pasteur and never went back to a vet ever again He could have easily lived much longer, but I am so grateful I had him for 15 years.
I'm in CT. Rabies due again for my 7 yr old german/ cattle dog mix. I looked everywhere online to see how to opt out. You cannot. Not even with titers test. My vet os a less is more type but the practice was bought out by big corperation. Unfortunately my dog has a town license.. They probably would be forced to report. I am unable to move and have no idea what to do or if there is a way to prep( so to speak) for this. Appt is May 10th. I am a nervous wreck and angry. What to do?
I understand your fear, truly I do, but when is enough, enough? I tell them no. I tell them there is no such thing as rabies and I will not allow poison to be injected into my dog. They refuse to treat my dog and threaten to report me. I walk out.
If you do not protect your children or animals, both of which depend on us to care for them, when you know they only want to make money on our children and animals and do not care what harm they cause, the answer for me is easy.
Ask yourself, is your child or animal sick? If that answer is no, why would you take a child or a dog for a yearly checkup, just because they say so? It is a ploy used always to get you into their offices, to pad their bills through testing for nothing and giving unnecessary vaccines using fear tactics if you say no.
This is a war against people and animals for profit only. And you are NOT JustANobody. You are a somebody with a voice. My advice is, use it. Cancel your appt, don't go. Tell them you'll call them when you are available. I did, and I never called back. Yearly postcards in the mail went in the trash. BTW, I now have a new dog, 3 years old. I got him as a puppy so I know he was vaccinated at birth. I have never taken him to a vet.
I decided to raise my now 6 month old puppy on raw, fresh and freeze dried food from the start. She received 1/2 dose of a puppy shot at 14 weeks, AFTER her maternal antibodies declined. I also use homeopathic nosodes. I hope she is around for a long long time.
Nosodes creates antibodies safely. But they don’t make money ( Big Pharma)! Children I knew years ago only received Nosodes. They were tested & had all natural antibodies from all the shots these poor children are being injected with.
People are starting to wake up. 72 jabs through a child’s 1st 17 years? Absurd!
If it's not poor quality it's the jabs. It's hard to find a Vet that is not going to use them, from Sterioids to routine shots. Deworming is simple, your Feed store will have IVM, Parvo necessary, Rabies Mandatory.
Deceades of Genetic Breeding also contribute. A Great Dane is about a decade. While mutts tend to live longer. If diet is controlled and less Vet visits.
Pasheen (Diva Drops) is a rescuer and tends to use Holistics.
I read labels, no soy, corn syrup, seed oils or grains, Meat is #1. My 2 are 10/11. healthy. They get table food and eggs. I know it's not enough. They are lazy breeds. A Moarkie and a rescued Shitz. Which fit seniors less active life style.
German Shepards deaths has been in the news lately. Abuse. Didn't find a link, but did find 1 on VP Biden's GS, bit SS Agents too, lots of excuses.
I am 71 yo and have had dogs, most times 2 or 3 at a time over my entire lifetime untill 2022 when my last lovely little dog passed at 20 yo. My decision to not take on anymore pets is based on my own realization of everything in this article. Sadly.
So true! I fed an entire generation of dogs a so called “ premium brand” of kibble and followed the vet’s instructions to a T! And I could not understand why my dogs developed aggressive cancers in the later stages of their lives!!! That is when I started rethinking animal nutrition and began studying and investigating the benefits of the BARF diet and I have not looked back since! It is such a fulfilling experience to be able to improve an animal’s health by just feeding it right.
In 1967, my family watched the rabbits, chickens, cat and dog of a Belgian family, in exchange for having a place to live while they were on vacation for a month. We found it fascinating that they fed their dog oatmeal and horse meat every day, and little else, aside from some table scraps. Everyone else we knew had their dogs on the new-fangled Purina Pet Chow kibble, or something similar.
Recently, after over-vaccination led to our dog having TIAs (mini-strokes), we changed her prescription kibble diet to one of cooked oats/rice/mashed potatoes, with ground turkey or boiled chicken, plus carrots/sweet potatoes or some other vegetable. She's doing remarkably well, despite being on the verge of turning sixteen. If we had avoided vaccination and the kibble, I suspect she'd be in better shape, and probably wouldn't be experiencing dementia that is becoming increasingly frequent (we now need to give her a nightly benedryl to overcome nighttime anxiety - it doesn't help the anxiety, but it puts her to sleep in about 40 minutes).
Rather than deal with the hassles of corporatized veterinary medicine, she'll likely be our last dog, especially since the prospect of any new pet potentially outliving us has becoming considerably more likely.
Corporations have ruined healthcare by taking it over. They are ruining veterinary medicine. They are ruining the tourism industry and pretty much everything else they get their hands on. I suspect most people will never notice, not having anything to compare it to, but to those of us who've seen the alternative, it's like living in a nightmare.
I feel worse reading this than I do reading the equivalent deception when it comes to humans. Our pets do not have a choice but to eat what we give them.
Having said that - I have long since converted our dog’s diet over to raw meat and organs. She hasn’t had a visit to the vet in 7 years except for a tick and a grape (in both cases which I believe there was an over reaction from the vets not surprisingly).
Yes the high carb diet is killing our animals, and us. What is interesting is that Dr Joel Wallach has a book called Dead Doctors Don't Lie which is excellent. He was a DVM that saw how nutrients could reverse disease in animals and then became a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine.
About 20 years ago W5 an investigative reporting TV show in Canucistan (back when some reporters weren't compromised). They had a show on a veterinarian who could prove that pet food manufacturers could formulate sawdust and used motor oils into pet food that met the standards for nutrition on the bags. It was unbelievable the dogs and cats would eat it. So make sure you know what your pets (and family) are putting in their body.
What makes people think the FDA would have any oversight for health of people or animals 🤔 after the last 5 years? You'd have to be completely insane to trust any government agencies!
I have 2 beautiful Maine Coon cats, 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 years old, that only eat raw meat. I source all the organ meat, muscle meat and cut up chicken necks and wing tips. Raw bones, that are not weight bearing bones and are of an appropriate size are very healthy for our pets. As these authors say, cats are obligate carnivores, they usually eat the whole prey, except the entrails. I've had kitties my whole life and never knew this, so they ate kibble. I think they survived well for about 20 years each, because they were outdoor cats and were good hunters, eating their catch. One thing I didn't hear mentioned is that the raw meat is 70% water and this is how cats get their water. Cats are originally desert animals and didn't drink much water, and they still have not really evolved to drink a lot and as a result have kidney problems. I can't stress enough how difficult it is to find a vet that will work with you. Even though I took in spread sheets and showed the variety and quality of meat and the nutritional breakdown, I was told that my kitties are a hazard to the community and that I should NEVER touch my cats without gloves on. Look for a holistic vet, and ask point blank if that practice will work with you. By law the vet is to vaccinate your pets, even if it's a cat that never goes to a kennel. I will NEVER vaccinate my cats again. So even though I found a vet willing to work with the raw diet, they're obligated by law to vaccinate. I did so much research on this, and had an amazing mentor at Paws of Prey. If you have a dog, check out "Give Your Dog A Bone". I tell you this... I knew the pet food was absolute poison, but the thought of euthanized pets being fed to my kitties... it makes me nauseous. If you don't want to do the raw food yourself, no that not all brands are created equal. Viva Raw is expensive, but just may save you vet bills in the end and you'll have a happier, energetic and healthy furry friend.
Thank you for the warm wishes. Yes, a lot of humans are as poisoned as their animals. That is true. I have to report some encouraging news, though. I left my former fancy and toxic life to care for dogs and horses and I see a growing trend of people making homemade food for their dogs, giving them RO water and being savvy as to what they feed their horses, too. Love my Muck boots ha! Also, a little year-round farm store opened in my vicinity, featuring only locally-raised, super high-quality foods. Like in the “old days”. It is consistently busy, which tells me the awareness is growing. People are increasingly willing to pay for quality. Also, our farmer’s markets are set to be booming. It is a long overdue and welcome positive local shift. I cannot believe I have to admit this, but I had to actually learn what real food looks like and tastes like… I did not know having been raised in cities, divorced from where food is grown. There has been so much to learn. I now have my PhD in post-hole digging after working on a ranch for 3 years so I laughed a bit at your post-hole reference. Thank you for the warm wishes. I send them right back at you and your wife! I am profoundly grateful to Unbekoming for helping to raise awareness. Just had to conclude with that statement.
I am, too, and I do not have the answers. Our society does not currently reward those with a conscience. I learned that the hard way. I also learned that I will never be in charge of what others choose to do. So I can only play a small part in my neck of the woods and support those who attempt to do the honorable thing. My family is the government and big corporations and I had to be willing to let all that go to preserve my conscience. Not everyone makes that choice. I’d rather wear Muck boots and take care of animals than make people sick for living, though. I definitely do not have the answers.

I totally agree on the vet thing... my kitties are never going again.
Good girl

What to do if they try to take my dog? I agree with everything you stated .
Vets Dr Will Falconer ( vitalanimal.com ) and Dr John Robb ( protectthepets.com ) are worth researching.
I decided to raise my now 6 month old puppy on raw, fresh and freeze dried food from the start. She received 1/2 dose of a puppy shot at 14 weeks, AFTER her maternal antibodies declined. I also use homeopathic nosodes. I hope she is around for a long long time.
I also need to add that I have no kibble in my house anymore. My cats are also on an all wet, mostly raw, carnivore based diet.
The worst wet food is better than the best dry food/kibble.
https://catinfo.org/ is great starting point.
Absurd!
The first really publicized Recall on Dog food, was WalMarts, Ol Roy, it didn't end there 150 brands were recalled. Ol’ Roy https://petfoodreviewer.com/reviews/ol-roy/

My sister had 3 Great Danes. All lived to only 5 years old. Heartbreaking to see how devoted she was to her vet instead of her dogs.
