The overlords need intelligent people with a high degree of technical expertise, so why not create a caste of humans with amplified skills in one area and diminished skills in another. This is by far the most depressing piece I have read recently. The conclusion is that all moral and ethical standards not only are not applied, they are not even in existence. All Western legacy, including the ten Commandments, are gone. All sophisticated appeals to humane aspects of our lives are fiction. There is no hope, as hope is easily drowned in the flow of money. All high-end institutions, which openly declare that they have our fate as their priority, are fiction.
Nobody cares about you or me. They only care about themselves, and they are extremely successful. Apart from the comprehensive view of the situation, we do have access to support, first aid, treatment options, old age support facilities, etc. So there is some remaining level of humanity within the machinery.
Of course, we also have systemic unemployment, systemic homelessness, systemic waste of resources, systemic disregarding and neglecting of human priorities over money and more. The complex image of the Earth as seen by the aliens is “still in the very early developmental phase, interventions prohibited, investments forbidden, all observers required to monitor only.” We do not deserve any helping hand. With so much money wasted away into building artificial anti-social structures, who would step up, anyway?
