This is AWESOME - best short overview of the "science of genetics" I've seen! I have twin grandchildren who were told AT BIRTH that they had the "genetic mutation" that causes cystic fibrosis (CF) although there is no CF in either parent's family. The BELIEF in the validity of that diagnosis has caused (1) an incredible amount of psychological suffering on the part of the parents/family and (2) the twins to be relegated to a lifetime of taking CF "management" drugs. Those drugs are (1) worth $250k per year to the pharma industry and (2) have their own negative effects on the children's long-term health. ALL caused by the belief in the infallibility of "the science of genetics."
The kicker is that the children are now 9 years old and have had ZERO symptoms of CF. But their mother is too afraid to wean them off of the drugs - afraid that it will cause them to develop CF.
Sorry to hear about the children. I always get ticked off, when I am asked to donate to a children's cancer hospital. Most of these cancers are caused by wireless radiation and by everyday toxins, found in food, too:
Bio-genetics is mostly models, inferences and guesswork. With this foundation, you can invent anything. I no longer believe the DNA clown show. Nor do I believe in immune systems.
Thinking about the modern stone age medical mafia (somewhat painful), everything tilts towards outside "things" like viruses and bad germs causing diseases. If that doesn't work, they blame your genes as being faulty for everything else going wrong.
What really happens? You become a walking, toxic bio-machine so poisoned that your body cannot function in its natural state. If enough damage is done, there can be no recovery no matter how many drugs, procedures and operations they provide calling them healthy solutions.
The body knows what it must do to survive and remain in a healthy pristine state from the time of birth. 200 years ago, we had no modern medicine. So how did people survive often living in grueling conditions?
Germ theory and gene theory are both reductionist, primitive superstitions that only remain viable due to massive propaganda and massive funding from the ruling interests that birthed and benefit from them at the expense of humanity.
My favorite character in the DNA fairy tale is "junk" DNA. Initially it referred to "non-protein-coding" DNA that didn't serve a functional purpose and comprised roughly 98.5% of the mythical "human genome."
Crick called this non-coding material "selfish DNA" or "junk DNA" saying it had no "selective advantage to the organism." Crick was legendary for his supposed ability to visualize complex molecules in his "mind's eye." Crick was also known for using doses of LSD to "enhance visualization" and overcome "intellectual bottlenecks." No telling what you'll see during an acid trip.
This idea that large amounts of this nonfunctional "junk" genetic material conflicted with the prevailing view of evolution that said nonfunctional DNA would be eliminated by natural selection. This led the ever grant-seeking geneticists to come up with more quackery called "the neutral theory" to provide a way out of this dilemma.
They truly just make this shit up as they go.
Along with the bunk science of genetics the entirety of meta-genomics and gene sequencing/assemblage are fraudulent.
I'm so glad you mentioned that! I'd read Creature from Jekyll Island and Griffen's exposure of the misleading term "junk bonds" (more in a second,) so when I first heard of "Junk DNA," my ears perked up; I have some theories about why they don't want us to know about it. But first: Here's part of why the banksters did away with the very lucrative Savings and Loans, blaming a non-existent scandal: "From 1981 to 1991, the average return on ten-year Treasury bills was 10.4 per cent; the Dow Jones Industrial Average was 12.9 per cent; and the average return on so-called junk bonds was 14.1 per cent."
As for this "junk" DNA: I've studied, fairly extensively, the millennia-old system known as the enneagram. It is said to have been known about in Babylonian times. It's some sort of "sacred geometry" that can be seen in everything from star systems to human character traits. In re the latter, the human aspect, it IS determined to be "in the genes," via that common test that compares results from fraternal vs identical twins. [Note, it is NOT said to be passed down from parent to child. It appears to be some sort of imprinting, possibly at birth or conception.]
The importance of knowing about it is that it causes us to betray our True Nature, which of course is none other than All That Is, by continually being plagued by deeply-rooted traits that "just FEEL like Who We Are." If it's genetic, that would explain how deeply we sense, and are manipulated/guided by the traits, mistaking what we call psychological states for "I" or Who I Really Am. Thus, my hypothesis is that keeping us blindly in that Self-betrayal loop could be behind calling those genes "junk." I know this is very woo-woo, especially coming from someone like me who's not used to describing it. But if anyone's interested, an astonishingly well-researched book is Sandra Maitri's "Spiritual Dimension of the Enneagram." [no specific religions are referred to.] And now that we know, from epigenetic study, that genes CAN be changed, we might well be able to throw off these shackles.
I quite literally had a coworker (who's father was a doctor) tell me at the time that I should get tested for that gene and consider getting a mastectomy if I was 'positive'. Just a foreshadowing of the idiocy of 'medically minded' people in the world.....
"Seventh Day Adventists, whose religious practices include abstaining from tobacco, alcohol, and meat, live an average of eight years longer than other Americans."
I'll bet it seems like even more than eight years!
One of your best essays answering the questions few would ask. I will print this one and insist people read it. Have you considered compiling a printed book for purchase?
This article is a great illustration of how the matrix works. It does so by creating an illusion that hides behind meaningless credentials by people with no real world experience (hmm, like government bureaucrats?). A good analogy is the holodeck in Star Trek series, all of them. They have 'safety controls' which create the illusion that bullets don't kill, or the world is predictable.
However, the 'safety control' is merely a toggle, at a switch in the computer program creating the holoprogram. What happens when the switch is toggled? Well, all of a sudden bullets kill. However, another thing changes: you can change the sequencing of the holoprogram and get the program to act outside of the program's parameters and introduce uncertainty into the scenarios built into the program. I bring this up because we may be brainwashed but the controls are always switched off-introduce uncertainty into their system and the whole thing falls apart. How listen to your gut and ask questions. These highly credentialed experts then become babbling idiots, whose word salads no longer works even to them.
Brilliant! I'd add that when their word salad no longer works, even to them, the percentage who go STRAIGHT into psychotic-level denial about that fact is astonishingly high.
Nuance is what matters tho. The interplay of what you inherit and what you do with it. My friend just discovered she has a kidney split in 2. 1 in 100 people have this apparently. Two tubes leave the kidney for the bladder. It’s a benign condition that rarely causes any problems .. but it is very physical and very real. My neighbour was born with gills.. like fish gills due to a developmental quirk. You must always make the best of what you have .. but biology does have quirks and predispositions that it’s sometimes helpful to know about.
Despite very very different lifestyles I still wound up with the same cluster of health problems as my granny. Knowing what may have been an issue for your ancestors can be helpful in navigating your health. It’s the genetic determinists who are scary …
"The through-line from Galton’s drawing room to your doctor’s office is unbroken. When a geneticist tells you that your condition is “in your DNA,” they are making the same assertion the eugenicists made: that your biology determines your fate, that the defect is in you, and that the institutions classifying the defect deserve authority over your body. The vocabulary updated. The project did not."
Isn't this where an abstract of mental projections create the bureaucrat's "entitlement" to make extra judicial decisions on other peoples lives without their knowledge or consent? That old wives tale about "Sticks and Stone may break my bones but words will never hurt me" fails to take into account the spiritual and psychological damage that the dark triad personalities can inflict on strangers and they being without conscience, morals or ethics will always follow after money and power regardless of the ineffable damage it causes to those who draw their ire.
Hello, new here, sorry if fit has already been discussed - any insights on the gut microbiome IN CORRELATION of the genome /testing? There is - insofar I know - still debate between correlation and causation , there seems to be stuff in mice, but I did not yet find really good evidence in humans - who have a more complex media influenced mental environment
Bacteria are polymorphic- they change form as the body needs. I have been pondering the whole gut microbiome thing as it relates to this. How do they sequence the bacteria? By genome- then it's useless. I have a strong suspicion there are only a handful of different bions/protids/mycrozyma (all different terms for the base, tiny, life form that the bacteria spring from. Which each have their life cycle of different forms that all get different names, and then different names again based on location in the body. Haven't found the science to base my theory on yet.
Great question and you are right to be cautious here.
In humans, there is a link between genetics and the gut microbiome, but it is much weaker than people often think. The study you shared shows that things like diet, metabolic health, and lifestyle explain far more of the microbiome than genetics does. Your DNA does influence certain bacteria (for example genes like FUT2 or LCT), but it does not “set” your microbiome.
On the correlation vs causation side, most human data is still association, not proof of cause. That is why you see stronger claims coming from mouse studies. In humans, it is much messier. In some cases, newer studies even show the reverse direction, meaning your metabolic state (like BMI or glucose control) can shape your microbiome, not just the other way around.
So the current consensus is:
• Genetics plays a role, but it is selective and modest
• Environment and diet are dominant drivers
• Most findings are still correlational, not causal
• The relationship is bidirectional and context dependent
So combining genome and microbiome data can be useful, but only if it is interpreted in the context of the whole system, not in isolation.
👏 excellent as always. Thank you for a complete analysis that I can share. I've tried explaining this yo the few people I know who would be willing to listen. This, I think, has all the pieces so that can hopefully jump that hurdle.
