We are supposedly rotating around the sun at high speed, and hurtling through the universe at much higher speed, according to modern scientific dogma. It sure doesn’t feel like it at all, does it? Why then do we feel no such massive motion yet we get dizzy after a few seconds of twirling around?
The force of gravity doesn’t seem remotely strong enough to counteract this motion either - why isn’t everything thrown off of earth’s surface?
None of the above deals with the shape of the earth, for which there seems to be contradictory evidence as well. Looking forward to any further delving into this subject.
In mainstream science, centripetal acceleration is inversely proportional to the radius of the motion. Since the radius is so large, the acceleration is tiny and we are only sensitive to acceleration, not constant velocity.
I wasn’t aware of that, having not studied cosmology in great detail. It doesn’t seem intuitive to me that this would be the case but of course I’m not certain. I don’t see how the hugeness of the universe would negate the rapid speeds that are supposedly in play.

His model perfectly matches the "non-null fringe" result from the Michelson-Morley experiment. I find his book an absolutely fascinating read (basically free online), and he has a solar system simulator demonstrating his model.

Yes people need to dig into folks like DeMeo among others. Dayton Miller did the heavy lifting in the aether drift department and historians like to skip over him. Yes people need to dig into folks like DeMeo among others. Dayton Miller did the heavy lifting in the aether drift department and historians like to skip over him. He used electricity, telephones and had an apparatus as big as a football field at the University of Chicago. He definitely did not find a "null" result. He went back and forth with Einstein in published papers up to 1937. Other folks to look into, Eric Dollard, John Bedini, Aaron Murakami, Peter Lindeman, many, many others.
There is no evidence that "space" exists or that there is an infinite vacuum beyond the upper atmosphere.

Missing is the metaphysical aspect of the conflict. In Holy Scripture, it reveals in many places and in many ways, that the sun and stars rotate around God’s ‘footstool,’ the Earth, created fixed at the centre of the universe (geocentrism), a fact held by all the Fathers and popes of the Catholic Church for seventeen centuries.
The problem with whether the universe is geocentric or heliocentric, is one of relative movement in space. Only if we could position ourselves outside the finite universe and look in at it, would it have been possible for Archimedes, Copernicus, Galileo, Einstein, Russell or Hawking to know what cosmic body is fixed or moving, and only then could man’s science confirm the true order of the universe. But because we are confined within our place in space and cannot get outside the universe for confirmation, man’s empirical method cannot tell us for certain how it is structured. The atheist Richard Dawkins confirmed this situation with his comment: ‘It is not actually provable that the Earth orbits the Sun, but it is perverse to deny it.’ But the Lord God does know what He created and in His Bible He revealed to us that the sun and stars revolve around a fixed Earth, and irrespective of the fact that man’s science cannot determine this order, those who believe in Him can take it as the absolute truth, and more so as it was further confirmed by His Church in 1616 and 1633. The promotion of Newton’s physics, Stellar Aberration, Stellar Parallax and other theories as proofs of science must rank among the most egregious pseudoscientific frauds in history, for what Catholic or secular school, college or university today does not teach the Copernican principle as a proven fact, the foundational basis upon which the modern ‘science’ of cosmology, evolution and Biblical meaning were built up on, a secular story of origins now promoted in Church and State.
In other words, what you see is what you see, the universe rotating around us every day. But as that shows us Creator exists it has been replaced with a 'proven' heliocentrism to support ATHEISM.

Yes Mary-Lou, evolution is the child of heliocenterism. The first evolution theory was that the universe evolved. Then came Darwin who said the fossils found would prove or falsify his theory. Millions of fossils found are all complete kinds, no evolving ones found. Evolution is an insult to human intelligence, bits surviving without all its parts.

Gober's book was ok but like all FE-s he ignores contradictory evidence. FEs can't explain the sunrise/sunset (perspective doesn't work at all) nor can it explain why the moon appears "upside down" in the other hemisphere. So, this essay was wise to focus on geocentricism and not FE.
The sun is small and local, just as it appears. It flies overhead just like a plane, same perspective. It is warmer when it’s overhead, because it is over your head. The moon is also small and local. In the south, you are looking at it from a different angle. The luminaries are not in “space.” Space is water.

Since I do not believe anyone is living "on a sphere" your point would seem to be moot. Celestial navigation obviously worked for nautical navigation as sailing history shows. The sun, moon, & stars move; the world stays put.
