1) "The T3 or T4 hormone might show up on a lab test as “normal levels” but it would be dysfunctional due to the presence of one of the other halides instead of three or four atoms of iodine that should be present."
I can attest to this one. I struggled for decades with fatigue, feeling cold all the time, etc. Multiple bloods test reflected "normal results." Finally, a holistic chiro started me on iodine (standard process). It only took 30 days to see MAJOR improvements.
2) My 2-cents of additional input on cholorides: I'm a swimmer. The chlorine in pools can easily displace iodine ... so I still take iodine supplement with that reason added to the list.
I am not sure what might be better tolerated for you. Lugol's iodine drops is the classic brand and Iodoral is the brand used in Dr. Brownstein's research and protocol. I am unfamiliar with the Standard Process brand recommended by Kelli below. There are many good products. Part of the media disinformation practices is to highlight any little negative issue to scare people away from the very supplements that could protect them from the modern diet. That may seem paranoid, but culling does seem to be the goal of CoV era and earlier since the 50s when it was less obvious.
Excellent interview. Jennifer Depew is one of the best sources of excellent, informative and actionable information on Substack https://denutrients.substack.com/

Is it best to take a liquid or pill iodine supplement? I also have concerns about supplements in general...nothing checked or regulated.

Thank you
Standard Process supplements are sold by many holistic providers and considered high quality. I take the Prolamine iodine pills.
