This isn’t romantic fantasy but historical pattern—every empire eventually exhausts its extraction mechanisms, every narrative eventually loses explanatory power, every colonization eventually faces decolonization. Our moment is approaching. The question isn’t whether these extraction systems will end but whether we’ll have alternatives ready when they do.
