As a reporter in the '90s in Baltimore, Maryland, I assisted in an investigation of a pedophile ring that allegedly encompassed many political and social leaders, including the state governor. It was allegedly fed victims by Catholic priests, as documented by a Netflix series, The Keepers, about the unsolved 1970 murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik, a whistle-blower. The investigation of the ring went nowhere (ditto for Sister Cathy) .
To me, the most important part of this story is the real power inherent in her healing, and the answer to "how do we overcome this as a society."
