Egg yolks: Particularly from pasture-raised chickens, with 15.5–32.1 mcg per 100g.
Grass-fed butter and ghee: Contain 13.5–15.9 mcg per 100g.
Fermented foods: Sauerkraut (4.8 mcg/100g), kefir, and yogurt (lower amounts, but beneficial).
Meat: Chicken leg (8.5 mcg/100g), ground beef (8.1 mcg/100g), and bacon (5.6 mcg/100g).
For vegans, natto is the only reliable food source of vitamin K2 (MK-7), as other plant foods contain only vitamin K1. The K2 in animal products comes from bacteria in the animal’s gut, especially in grass-fed animals. For optimal absorption, consume K2-rich foods with healthy fats (e.g., olive oil, avocado oil, butter).
Thanks for providing this, for going beyond theory to what it means. Still in the theory stage is that I have yet to find a recommended consumption level of K2.
Teeth are like a car. You can wash, wax, clean, polish a car several times a year, year after year, and it can still rust from the inside out. Dentists and doctors are so clueless about so much as it pertains to illness, disease and health of the body. This is still 100% true hundreds of years later:
Well, they say don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but in the case of structured water, several subjects reported that their gum recession reversed as documented by their dentists!
and advise to use all kinds of chemicals that will continue to damage the teeth, and the bones. long ago, my dentist in Europe, who had studied both there and in the US, told me that all that flossing and using toilet cleaner for your mouthwash was really bad for your teeth. That liquid stuff does a great job on the toilet bowl, I don't even think of using it in my mouth! Gently brushing from the gums up the teeth helps a lot. And stop flossing, and using that hook, which according to this dentist, loosens the gum from the tooth and lets germs in between. Hm. Makes sense to me.
Excellent article. Thank you. This will be passed to some people I know!
A couple of additional thoughts: EMFs, metals and dental implants.
...Those of us who use our phones and tablets with the screen shining at our eyes, mouth, throat, thyroid, and thymus...
EMFs displace minerals, especially calcium and potassium. (Dr. Martin Pall). I think they mess up electrolyte balance (especially salt). EMFs alter pH. EMFs act on bacteria (and all lifeforms) and increase their bad behavior. (Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt)
Many of us believe Covid is another level of Electromagnetic Radiation poisoning. Since Covid, people have been reporting "sudden" dental problems - kind of like turbo dental issues. Sudden extensive deterioration of their teeth.
Metals in the mouth complicate EMF issues. You mentioned nickel previously.
From Google, surprisingly:
"Dental metals, particularly mercury-based amalgam fillings and titanium implants can act as antennas that attract and conduct EMFs from devices like phones... potentially causing increased mercury release, galvanic oral currents, and localized tissue sensitivity. These interactions may also cause or contribute to oral microbiome imbalances... Titanium implants... increased sensitivity to EMFs suggesting a link to balance issues and neurological symptoms..."
Related issue to explore - joint replacements, "bone on bone" narrative, metals in joint replacements, some of which are toxic. Why do so many people need joint replacements?
Do you have any information on how necessary colonoscopies are!? Thanks for dental info. I dabbled at a dental hygiene program moons ago.....darn probing didn't work out in my wrist strengths.
i don't know if any of the people are into banning poisonous injections, but if you are, I have some free stuff here for you...
If you like filling out forms I encourage you to steal my most recent post. Even paste it into your own stack and start working on your own fork. I have no copyright applied, nor responsibility assumed lol..
It is not done yet. Think of it as frozen food that you take home and cook yourself....
Someone on substack mentioned a great documentary, and I wish I could give them the credit for pointing it out. It is called, "The Root Cause." It's starts off a bit cheesy, but, OMG, it is well worth watching!
Regarding the Calcium Paradox, where calcium is lost in bone, and at the same time arteries are calcifying. Based upon your essay, it would seem the former is from a deficiency of K2. The latter is likely caused by a deficiency of magnesium, since calcium and magnesium are antagonists: too little magnesium drives calcium into soft tissues. The two deficiencies together likely make atherosclerosis a lot worse, as the lack of K2 could be raising blood calcium levels (temporarily, as your body will pack that excess calcium into cells just as fast as it can).
So the idea of taking a calcium supplement to reverse bone loss is insane. I suspect it just accelerates loss of kidney function by calcifying kidney tissue. With loss of kidney function, your body has a harder time getting rid of excess calcium in the urine. And the problem snowballs as you age.
So your doctor's recommendation to take a calcium supplement is a part of the business model: Physician income improves while patient outcomes decline.
Rinse and repeat. The best scams are the ones that can be recycled repeatedly.
These various researchers differ very much in their suggested protocols though tbh. Noma Linda is an Adventist research facility .. known for promoting veganism and with at least one high profile medic flat out lying about the health results. They promote grain based veganism which is pretty terrible for teeth and bones . Weston Price was the opposite and suggested greatly reducing grain consumption and processing the grains to a high degree. Ramiel Nagel, sadly died very young probably from overdoing his fermented fish oil protocol which many subsequently thought to be toxic.
This is one reason modern dentists dont generally try to treat teeth through diet, because it's so complicated .
I've experimented a lot and did work out how to regrow my own teeth but it was quite obtuse the way I did it and I cant really see how it fitted *any of those above mentioned theories. The Adventist approach absolutely did not work for me and nor did Weston Prices approach on its own. It's hard to create a reliable outcome that dentists can charge for. My poor old biological dentist has been trying for years.
Thank you for your excellent article. I always find your Substack articles very knowledgeable and well researched. I wish I had known this information when I graduated as a dentist over 50 years ago because none of this was ever mentioned at any stage during our 5 year Uni course. We were also urged to regard all the early 'anti Fluoride' information as conspiracy theories! Fortunately I began researching natural health and needless to say I became very disillusioned with the profession and happily quit after 10 years of practice.
Vitamin K2 food sources are primarily found in animal-based and fermented foods. The richest sources include:
Natto (fermented soybeans): The most concentrated source, providing up to 1,103.4 mcg per 100g (MK-7 form).
Hard and soft cheeses: Especially Jarlsberg, Edam, Gruyère, and Brie, which contain 10–76 mcg per 100g.
Animal liver: Goose liver paste (369 mcg/100g), chicken liver (14.1–27 mcg/100g), and beef liver (6.8–13.8 mcg/100g).
Egg yolks: Particularly from pasture-raised chickens, with 15.5–32.1 mcg per 100g.
Grass-fed butter and ghee: Contain 13.5–15.9 mcg per 100g.

Thank you!
I'm doing and have been doing all of this for years and my bone is vanishing.
Thank you.
Thanks for providing this, for going beyond theory to what it means. Still in the theory stage is that I have yet to find a recommended consumption level of K2.
Thank you for the details. Natto AND fermented foods for vegans? I'm not vegan, but I thought I'd ask the question. 😉
I love this ~ Thank you!

I love your analogy about the CAR!

The dentist and the doctor are satisfied to take money for continued attendance on this patient...

What's effective on porcelain, be it WC or teeth, is cheaper by the five-litre container..!
yes, and works very well, also has a less penetrant smell than the toilet cleaner bottles

Thank you for spending time on this article. Important information for all.
Raw meat, raw milk, raw eggs, and high intensity, strength training. And no drugs or injections of any kind. That’s how you become unbreakable.
Chris - You are so right!
After research last June, I added red meat back to my diet and learned how to cook it medium rare, not well done any more. I feel great!
Raw milk is available in my town and at the farmer's market. I've tried it. It's wonderful.
Gut health also , is part of the picture as well, good reminder Jacquelyn
Incredible
THANK YOU!!!

Would you mind sharing that protocol how to grow teeth? Do nanohydroxyapatite toothpastes help?

Good list but I would add "healthy fats" include beef tallow and lard - what our ancestors ate!
