I know a woman who was using this method 40 years ago. She explained it to me and it made perfect sense. Not sure where she learned it.

When I look at this from the Chinese medicine perspective, there are a few things to consider. 1) The testicles must not be overheated. This happens when the pants are too tight, jeans too tight, and a man sits for too long (e.g. drives too much, has a sitting job, etc), no sauna and hot baths. Loose pants, loose cotton trousers, frequent standing up and movement. Also NO mobile phone attached to a belt, as some men carry. 2) Zinc is paramount, and we suggest eating cooked beef, pumkin seeds, and cooked beetroot. and a variety of nuts daily for their mineral content (say a tablespoon or two, not the whole package). The key is to eat the nuts cooked, or at least soaked. Why? Because nuts are difficult to digest, and when you want to restore fertility, you want to optimise digestion too. Cooked food is easy to digest and the goal is to eat mostly cooked food. So only 5-10% of raw food, such as smoothies, protein shakes, apples, bananas, salads , raw nuts. Raw food requires extra energy to digest (enzymes), and you want to keep the bodily resources for building the sperm. 3) Ease stress. Stress is the killer of fertility on all levels, mainly because it impairs digestion (if you eat in stress, there is hardly any stomach acid and pancreatic enzymes ready to handle food), and creates vasoconstriction all over the body. Cortisol is high, and when you are stressed, you are not preparing to create an offspring. The body is intelligent. Without proper circulation (vasodilation) and proper digestion (to get the right nutrients), there is NO delivery of the key nutrients to the testicles to create quality sperm. There are many ways to ease stress and it needs to happen daily. Whatever works for the person is good. Some men need to run and kick the ball, others swim, and some do DIY at home. Humming and singing is particularly great because it release nitric oxide that helps vasodilation (aka less stress). 4) Improve digestion. East cooked meals at the same times. When you eat think only about the food. No scrolling, media, computers, eating between tasks. Better 5min fully concentrating on food than 20 minutes looking at the news. 5) check whether there is any problem with digestion, aka painful abdomen, sticky stools, smelly stools, gases, or belching. These are signs of stress and improper digestion. Bitter taste is necessary to help release bile and should be eaten at every meal. e.g. rye bread, spices (thyme, majoram, basil, corriander, oregano, provence etc), buckwheet, beetroot (both bitter adn sweet), salads (arugula, parsely, iceberg - these are the 5-10% of raw), cruciferous vegs (broccoli, kale, pak choi, cabbage, red cabbage, leafy greens, asparagus), artichokes, chikory, 80% dark chocolate (a few pieces), cocoa, extra virgin olive oil , or have a bitter drink after a meal - jasmine tea, green tea, black teas, chamomile, lemon balm, sage, etc. Without bitter taste, digestion is often impaired. 5) Movement. Small movement every hour or so, get up and sit down, 20x every hour, have a walk, do 10 jumping jacks etc. Often and small every day. Self-massage. 6) Sunshine, blue light in the morning, within 1h of getting up. 7) Good sleep. ----> This helps in 90% of cases. The rest improves with acupuncture/herbs.

A large amount of the man made chemicals pervasive in our everything disrupt the hormones of men and women. Including herbicides and pesticides. Get rid of any product for house and body that isn't natural and detox

Many learned this in Catholic high schools long ago. It was there in the 70s and 80s for sure and probably long before that. I would stay away from the apps for recording and rely on the old fashion pen and paper for recording temp, etc.

I have this book and used the method for years, both to avoid pregnancy and become pregnant, It worked very well, I have 3 very much wanted sons.
