It isn't that pharmaceuticals are 'bad' in that they have no place; it is that the intent of the system created a system of legalized drug abuse where choices do not exist and the treatments misapplied.
The intent to create a system of control led to what we have today. With the intent to really offer people another choice, there would be no insurance as medical doctors, like homeopaths or chiropractors would be on a pay as you go system of compensation. It is possible that the majority would still opt for the fast acting solution known as a 'medication', but as the person got worse, that person would eventually wake up and seek treatment elsewhere and these non-pharmaceutical based providers would be available as alternatives.
The part of our health care system that is evil aren't the pharmaceuticals or even the vaccine. It is insurance. Insurance companies set the 'Srandard of care'; insurance dictates who gets paid and who doesn't. We, the premium payers, use providers that are 'covered by insurance' and refuse to use those that aren't. Yet the more we use insurance, the higher the premiums. It is evil because it hooks you into the system leading you to believe that your costs are really lower to the point where you won't consider anyone else no matter how sick you are. Of course insurance allowed the middleman to enter the system and pad the costs so a procedure that on an open market with no insurance may cost a few thousand gets padded to tens of thousands.
I think the paradigm we call concierge care (used by some holistic veterinarians) where a monthly subscription leads to personalized care will be the future of health care. The only caveat is no insurance. These doctors may use compounding pharmacies, if their license gives them the right to prescribe controlled substances; these pharmacies can personalize any FDA approved substance to reformulate a pharmaceutical to match what the person needs and it is considerably cheaper.
