Thanks so much for this. I believe Ms. Austin-Fitts is hands down one of the most important voices we have at this time. Many will disagree with me and I must wonder at their motives. If I were to make a short list of heroic people I would like to meet as a sort of “bucket list”, Ms. Austin-Fitts would be at the top of that list. I read and implemented her Coming Clean article, which is brilliant as well. It is essentially about getting the “tapeworm” out of one’s life. I had a lot of tapeworm to cut out and it has taken me close to a decade to do it.

CAF is the reason I stopped investing in "my" 401K.

I'd had my niggling doubts about the financial system having worked on Wall Street at the same time that CAF was there. I was nowhere near her level, mind you. I worked as an admin assistant to a "rising star" at Morgan Stanley. It was there that I got to wondering, "Just what do these people do???" Morgan Stanley used the same law firm that CAF often talks about in describing her hellish experience while on Wall Street.

So. I have not had a 401K since -- probably -- 2000. At around the same time, I became intrigued by Ron Paul and the "End the Fed" movement. I closed my checking account with a major bank and opened one with a small, well-run local bank. I followed that by opening an account at a local credit union. In our new home, credit union...

As CAF says, referring to the MAHA people, ask them about their retirement savings. Ask them where their money is. You will find, she says, that most of us are funding our demise by indirectly (and sometimes directly) investing in companies doing the "demising." And then living off the proceeds.
