I won't bore you here with all the benefits that I have found with DMSO (I have used it, on and off, for about 12 years). However, I had only had experience with liquid DMSO but then did buy some Allo Vera & DMSO (30%/70%) on the spur of the moment as I have always had an odd asthma/rhinitis issue - despite historically doing loads and loads of sports. So, I have just rubbed some into my nostrils over the last six months, and it's sorted! From Day 1!! Ding!!! My nose breathing is wonderfully relaxed. Sleeping a dream. Moreover, there is zero irritation that you can otherwise get with DMSO liquid on sensitive skin (the shoulder for example - that was so bad I had to rush into the shower to get it off!). I'm also sure that doing this has given me many other positive (circulation) benefits that AMD has alluded to. AMD is the business! I'm so grateful for all his inputs.

UPDATE: Recently I pulled my right psoas muscle. I am a golfer and I also work on my golf course in my retirement for fun and my health. I'm a wee bit unsure as to how I pulled the muscle but it became gradually more painful. The pain started at the base of my spine, moved to the hip after a few days, and then on to the groin area (my spine now has bruises showing through!). So, I applied DMSO (gel, and later on liquid) to the spine area, hip, and upper groin. With the resulting DMSO itch on my back, I could barely last 5/7 minutes both times and had to shower it off quickly! However, on reflection, I felt that the groin area was not so much of an issue, and so I reapplied it there. Sure enough, I can barely feel anything of an itch on the groin. How very odd! It's much like the DMSO gel up my nose, whereby there is no itch in a very sensitive area whereas the shoulder application resulted in a crazed itching. Hopefully, the DMSO with the psoas/groin will help as I'm hobbling about just as the spring weather is finally coming good!

I think if you decrease the dilution to 70% you will have less burning and itching.

Well, matters got worse! It turned out I had Piriformis Syndrome, which gives a kinda outrageous sciatica-like pain. It was total 24/7 agony for two weeks. No pills worked. Nada. Eventually, after two weeks, I had to go to the (Locum) Doctor. She was excellent and put me on strong opioids. All good now.

I have had excellent results with the 99.995 gel from, yes, Tractor Supply, on knee and ankle pain. Just like I take Petmectin for ivermectin use. I also have the DMSO low odor in glass from the DMSO store. I have noticed my now silver hair (I’m 76) is softer and silkier. Interesting. I’m trying to clear a lower intestine issue for the past year and while I had some improvement at first, that has gone away. I’ve been drinking DMSO in juice.

Judy. Electrifried's avatar

DMSO restored both my hair and my natural hair color. Two and a half years ago I got very sick. I lost about two thirds of my hair. I thought I would go bald. My hair came back stronger and thicker than it ever was, and it's basically the same color it was when I was a teenager.

It has been remarkable for me for healing long standing issues like neuropathy and neck and lower back instability. It also has Improved my brain fog.

Add on: I also took Methylene Blue, and it helps hair and nails, especially nails. I try to figure out when do you take what? Methylene Blue, DMSO, Chlorine Dioxide? When do you combine remedies?

Jewell's avatar

I take 1/2 tsp of DMSO in OJ 2-times a day and also use a 50/50 mix with MCT oil on my face and neck and painful areas. I noticed that my hair was less grey and softer but thought I was just imagining the grey part. I take care of my Dad (96) he has had an open/scab wound on his leg for years - tried everything no luck then tried the 50/50 DMSO mix - it closed and healed over in a week. I used DMSO roll-on from TSC over a decade ago and had forgotten about it until about a year ago. I have been taking MB for a couple years - I have found it very helpful with fatigue and pain. I mix about 10 drops with a few ounces of water and about 1g of ascorbic acid - let it sit and the color disappears I then pour it into some juice. It does turn urine blue. I keep a very low dose of chlorine dioxide in a water bottle in the fridge which I sip on throughout the day. I have not had any issues with this regiment - but I don't take them at the same time and my doses are low.

Jan's avatar

That’s great! A recent ankle pain and weakness was resolved by the gel. I brush it on my thyroid area. I’m all in. I don’t have arthritis I’m aware of but I have a few things that pop up here and there. I want to try it on some numbing in my toes. I have bunions so maybe that explains the numbing. I’m not about to get that horrible surgery on them. No pain anyway I just live with the look of em. Lol.

Judy. Electrifried's avatar

Klimer references Dr. John Bergman on YouTube, now on Odyssey. Dr. Bergman has brilliant videos about all things anatomy and physiology. He talks about bunions and everything related to spinal misalignment. If you have bunions, your spine is not in alignment. My mother and my mother in law both had severe bunions. MIL got surgery. My mother developed spinal stenosis. Dr. Bergman explains all of this. The right chiropractic can save lives and sanity. Tho, I no longer will get any bone-crunching. I think it is harmful. I get upper cervical chiropractic as well as Body Work from Craniosacral or Myofascial Release.

My feet and lower legs were numb. I couldn't feel normal things like cold and like socks or sheets. This resolved with NUCCA and DMSO.

I've been taking DMSO orally I think for about two years, low dose. About two months ago I started putting it on my neck, front and back. Amazing results, I also wondered if it would help thyroid issues.

Unapologetically Me's avatar

My old chiropractor switched from "regular" chiropractic techniques to NUCCA as well. This was in about 2010.

My chronic back and issues fully resolved after that. 😄

I also discovered MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution aka chlorine dioxide) and DMSO around that same time...

"Game Changers".

Judy. Electrifried's avatar

Absolutely. NUCCA saved my brain as well as my body. It also saved my sister who was rear ended in a several car pile up. Game changer. Yes. Life changer. Yes!

Jan's avatar

I’m 76. Not getting any surgery for them. Ever. I’ll wait it out. I can still walk several miles and nothing hurts. No arthritis. I adjust my shoes and actually they aren’t that bad. One side does because a ganglion cyst has formed on it. It could disappear tomorrow. I don’t use chiropractors as I’ve seen damage done to some relatives. I do as little as possible. Nothing invasive and may up the DMSO stuff. I have no back issues at all. Never have.

CST4U's avatar

Janet, find a chiropractor that does Applied Kineology. No cracking of bones or hurting. It is a different way of doing things. I've been using ths kind of chiropractic for a long time. Hard to find this type, but worth the effort.

Unapologetically Me's avatar

My sister recently underwent that horrible surgery. In one foot.

She was on crutches for 12 weeks, wearing foot wraps and a robo boot, and basically out of commission.

After that? It was slow going as well.

I recommended slathering 100% medical grade dmso mixed with aloe vera gel & pure vitamin E oil (from punctured capsules) on all the terrible incision scars but I doubt that she followed up...

I'm the "crazy sister" after all... 😉

Anyway: Good call Jane!

Jan's avatar

Yes. I’m the crazy sister too. The suspected trump lover and evil antivaxxer. She had both feet done at different times. The alignment plate broke inside her foot after some time on one side and she had to have it all done again and of course, paid for again. That’s when I told myself. No way.

Hi! Are you doing MB in 0.5% or 1%?

I think Unbekomong will need a substack on MB....

Roxanne's avatar

Judy, do you take DMSO internally? I would like to up my game by adding a few drops, but I'm afraid of the body odor others have experienced.

Mari Gold's avatar

I've read that if you use DMSO for an extended timeframe (depending on your body's toxicity) that once you DETOX your body, the smell / odor goes away. I don't have the odor and use DMSO both internally (tsp in water daily) and also on my hands and sometimes lower back, as well as freckles on the legs incase its some sort of melanoma beginnings. No odor but I detoxed 2022 through 2023. Also I don't eat any processed foods, no seed oils, no white flour. Just real food: meat, veggie, seeds. So if you're consuming any processed food including white flour, you won't be likely to detox because of feeding the body the same crap its trying to eliminate. FYI

Roxanne's avatar

I've read that, too; I guess I'm afraid to test it out, but it may be another reason to stay at home reading instead of socializing. :o) I also wonder if transdermal dosing might be sufficient. Just musing still.

ElleSD's avatar

I have a bottle of 99% DMSO and I haven't used it yet. I feel like I need to read everything twice (lol) before using it. I am 🐔. All the warnings have me nervous. What's a good practical way to start incorporating it into my daily life?

I still need to reread all Unbeckoming's stacks on it and Amandha Vollmers book again.

Roxanne's avatar

It's a good idea to be cautious; overall, though, there should be a lot more warnings on a bottle of Tylenol than on DMSO.

I eased in first by putting some DMSO on a clean cotton pad, then applying it to a clean knee (which was my primary pain). My own precaution is showering without lots of products - just using some Castile soap on my skin - then applying the DMSO and not using any other products until that has soaked in/dried (maybe half an hour). Some have concerns about the quality of their shower water. I understand, I just don't want to be so careful that I never proceed toward an improved state.

Other people add in a product that they DO want to draw into the body, like castor oil. I don't do that yet.

A Midwestern Doctor has compiled studies and case reports and general information on it, too. That's how I came to consider using it.

klimer's avatar

Hi Roxanne!

I never thought to look here for comments after Unbekoming cut and pasted my Substack article here.

I did a full dropperful of DMSO, I think three times per week. After a couple of months, a slight garlic odor developed, so I stopped.

Not long after this article was published I started doing four drops per day, and thus far I've noticed no odor. I suspect a few drops per day would not be problematic for most people.

Roxanne's avatar

Thanks! After this article, I took the plunge and started added a few drops into my coffee, in divided doses. As far as I know (and I did ask), there was no body odor. I'm at 1/2 teaspoon, divided, most days. I muscle test for it - yes/no - and then how much. I built up to the 1/2 teaspoon a few drops at a time. So far, so good.

Judy. Electrifried's avatar

Yes, internally, about 1 tsp in a drink. I have tried upping the dose, but I think I'll stick with the low dose. No problem with odor. That might be a brand thing. It does cause detox. People need to be aware of that. We think it isn't working, or we are getting worse. That isn't the case. I take days off, so I'm not taking it continuously.

Roxanne's avatar

Interesting. Yes, I would probably assume I was taking too much, or shouldn't be taking it at all.

Judy. Electrifried's avatar

I have a book about MB written by Mark Sloan. He recommends Compass Laboratories. I usually get it from Amazon, but I kind of don't trust them where supplements are concerned. Compass Laboratories also has DMSO. I haven't bought DMSO from them, but I probably will. I take very low dose MB. I am chemically sensitive. I am sensitive to everything, so I keep things really low.

People have said that MB gives them wonderful energy. I take it in the evenings because it helps me sleep! It also helps memory. Since being on MB and DMSO my memory is improving, and my thinking is more clear.

Riverdog09's avatar

Very cool. I am sensitive too. So I read-listen-observe-think for along time first. Thank you!

MNI7's avatar

Thank you for the info - very helpful!

Susie's avatar

Judy, do you take the dmso orally or just spray it on your hair? Or some other way?

Judy. Electrifried's avatar

Orally. About 1 tsp in a drink.

Something I wonder about quite a bit is why everyone is bald now. If you watch old movies or old TV shows, people had beautiful, full hair. It was amazing. Now, so many guys have lost their hair. I think it's an autoimmune thing. I wonder if DMSO would restore hair in some of these cases. I want to do a research project on that!

Annie Oakley's avatar

This is so helpful. I will order the dmso/aloe vera rose scented cream that you mentioned recommended by AMD and will order the 100 percent dmso drops for my canines. Can you recommend a book for me to order telling how much dmso to use for specific ailments? Can you use too much of the cream? I would want to use the cream on my face, neck and shoulder’s every night, but would this be too much? That’s why a need a good book? I so look forward to Klimer’s next article.

Riverdog09's avatar

This is the best list of DMSO books I have seen. Small business. Can buy on Amazon too.

https://www.dmsocanada.com/booksll

Note! These books are also listed individually at the top of the article.

klimer's avatar

Hi Annie! I never thought to look here for comments, since the original article was on my Substack. AMD's posts on DMSO are far better than any book, but the Amanda Vollmer book is probably the next best option. One thing AMD said in a later post was that he/she takes a couple of days off from DMSO every week, which I now do as well.

A little goes a long way. I've used it on parts of my body with poor circulation for quite a while now. And I always put a small amount on my carotids and temples.

I suspect that using it on the face would improve lymph flow, which might help with certain problems. Just use it sparingly.

Annie Oakley's avatar

Hello Kilmer, That’s very helpful. Thanks so much!

Riverdog09's avatar

I have been using DMSO gel on my dog since AMD's article. He has had a terrible red rash and sores on his underbelly since July. Experimented with both 80% and 70% strength. It has finally healed. After a $3,400 bill at the Vet in the spring (with no comfimed diagnosis and ambiguous treatment), I was too traumatized to go back vet with a skin issue.

I tried everything I knew to heal his belly and nothing was working until DMSO. The great thing with DMSO, is that it also provides the pain relief so the dog stopped chewing on his wounds.

Judy. Electrifried's avatar

Riverdog, what's a river dog?? :)

To you, Klimer, and others with dogs and cats, what are you feeding them? And I hope you're not still vaccinating.

Dogs need MEAT and some vegetables. They don't need kibble or grain, or blueberries, or peas. Meat should be mostly RAW! They do like raw carrots. Something to chew on.

Cats need MEAT, mostly RAW.

Kibble causes kidney and other damage. Horrible stuff. Commercial pet food is meat-flavored chemicals, and it often has disgusting ingredients we don't know about. There's been a lot on the animal channels about dogs being poisoned the last year or so from commercial pet food.

My son's dog had chronic ear infections and shook her head incessantly, and she itched incessantly until he changed her diet. I took in a dog - temporarily - two years ago. She had previously been fed only cheap kibble. She was pudgy and her fur felt like a porky pine - stiff and unpleasant. She chewed on herself and ate the fur. (Bad childhood).

She's been on meat now for over two years. She has more than abundant energy. Her fur is soft and cuddly. She's perfect weight. She has NO odor. No fur odor. No bad breath. Even her urine has no odor. Weird.

Unfortunately, it is expensive to feed our pets and us humans well. But, I'd rather spend money on good food than on vets who don't necessarily help. Like you, I've spent thousands of dollars trying to heal sick animals trying to alleviate their pain and suffering.

There are several veterinarians on Substack who write good articles.

AsaTBear's avatar

Can confirm this, especially re: cats. The worst wet cat food is better than the best dry stuff. Obviously, we want better food, but sometimes our finicky felines like the less expensive stuff. Putting water on dry food won't help.

I highly recommend the site below for feeding felines and what the food industry has done to our animals. It's pathetic and as bad was western medicine for humans.

We stopped feeding dry years ago and it has a made a huge difference. It does take a little more effort and your furry ones may get you up early for feeding, but avoiding the vet, like hospitals/docs for humans, is worth it. I also don't vax them.

klimer's avatar

Hi Judy! We feed Lana mostly rice, veggies and ground turkey or cooked chicken breast.

I think my wife is finally onboard about no more vaccinations. We got strong armed for not giving her the rabies vaccines, which is not required in our state. She relented, and Lana didn't do well, but she has pulled through.

I've pondered why healthcare is so deplorable now. It turns out that private equity (Blackrock, State Street, Vanguard and others) buy up businesses and focus on short term profits. The whole idea is to suck up as much cash as possible, before people wake up to the wholesale looting and pillaging that they are doing.

We've been just using this cream....Dr. Robaina DMSO Cream - 99.9% Pure Pharmaceutical Grade | Skin Relief Formula with Zechstein Magnesium, Arnica, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E | Muscle & Joint Comfort | 4 oz | Made in USA, and have experienced great pain relief. Haven't researched using it internally, but I'm still reading, and keeping info on how to use DMSO. It seems to do so much for so many people.

I started taking 1 gram/day of flush-free niacin and awaited my next labs with great anticipation, expecting my kidney function to have improved. I was sorely disappointed when it was worse. My GP told me that DMSO would hurt my kidneys, so I have mostly stopped using it, though it really helped my painful joints. I’m hoping for kidney improvement in a couple of months still using the niacin.

ElleSD's avatar

Interested to see the responses to this comment. Thanks for sharing.

klimer's avatar

I sincerely doubt that your doctor knows what he is talking about. They are taught that if they don't know something, to at least sound like they do. If I were you, I'd dig into AMD's DMSO articles, and share your comment there. Hopefully you would get a reply.

AMD has articles on zeta potential that should improve kidney function. There are also some electronic radio frequency devices (collectively called Zappers) that can improve circulatory issues, but most aren't cheap.

I don't like recommending specific products, but you might do some research on Cardio Miracle. It seems to improve a lot of things simultaneously. I've been taking it since May. When I stop taking it, I notice problems returning.

Laura's avatar

I usually don’t trust him much, since he tried to bully me into the clot shot, but I was really expecting my kidney numbers to improve because of taking niacin, and they got worse. I’ll see my nephrologist and ask what he thinks. He seems more reasonable. But I will do as you say and look more into AMD’s article and post there, and look into Cardio Miracle. Thanks.
