I witness this medical mesh assault, when I got a job in the local private hospital.

I saw all these mesh slings lined up in the store room like a MacDonalds….I saw the sleazy sales reps in every one of these operations and the gifts to surgeons…it was clearly wrong. My instinct was to refuse to work with any of these surgeons . All these years later, I am so glad I trusted my intuition. I never ever worked on one of these mesh operations, very soon I didn’t get enough shifts to keep earning enough and quit nursing. I still have yet to pay back my student fees for this degree , but I refuse to be part of a bio-medical capitalist model that harms and continues to assault women’s bodies.

Long ago, my sister was doing her clinical's and witnessed serious bad doctor behavior and RN in charge had said hospitals would shield this and backup anything doctors wanted....like Gods. That day my sister turned in her resignation and quit nursing, also took one of the family members aside and told them to have an autopsy done because there was foul play. She also told them she could not testify and that she had quit. I think she was such a care giver soul and would have helped and brought quality of care to anyone she attended to. It was sad.

There are many people who have conscience and won't do the wrong thing. Thank God you and my sister are 2 of them. Thank you.

Wow just wow! In about 2011, I saw a new gynecologist for uterine fibroids. She tried to talk me into a mesh for a prolapse I didn’t even know I had, it was so mild! Never mentioned pelvic floor PT. Luckily I had seen an ad for a class action lawsuit and I asked her about it. She looked down and embarrassed and mumbled something about that “never happening with HER clients”. What a witch!!! SO glad I didn’t fall for it. This will be added to my list (yes I keep a list) of why I don’t trust doctors.

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

I have a very very short list of things I will go to the doctor for. And a list with 1 doctor and 1 dentist I more or less trust.

Darling Crimson's avatar

That list is imperative! Smart! 🥰🙏🌹

I have a list too!!

I don't need a list......I trust non of them and won't ever for any reason. Just let me die in peace, my new montrah.

Good read, but mesh is used in mutiple procedueces. My friend had a hernia mesh, total failure. She suffered for years, excuses of all types, your to fat, she was the same weight when the put it in. Doctors LIE.

Susan Rose's avatar

Question? I had a mesh put in maybe 7 years ago for a hernia that I didn’t know the surgeon put in until after my surgery. So now I am having problems with it. It shifted or something and I have a hard spot in my stomach next to my navel and it hurts every now and then. The same Dr. told me he could take it out, but would have to do about two to 4 inch cut around my panty line and go in and pull it out. Any suggestions??? I don’t know what I should do about it. This scares me.

Strongly recommend you contact:

I had surgery in DFW for hernias with mesh. They failed and migrated as well. Dr Grishkan (above) specializes in fixing hernias without mesh. Well worth the trip to Cleveland. Give them a call and discuss your situation.

TomB's avatar

Don’t let your first surgeon “try again”. I made that mistake! After two failures I sought out doctors that did NOT use mesh. Don’t repeat my mistake.

Best advice ever! ❤️🙏

Just reached out to him.

Susan, you've got my prayers. 🙏❤️ Very best your way. ❤️

I filled out the paper work. Hope to hear from him soon.

Thank you so much for letting me know about Dr. Grishkill. I had my surgery with him this past Thursday. He got the mesh out which had attached to my intestines. So a little longer recovery that I expected, but so thankful I went and got it done. He said if I hadn’t got it out, I would have ended up at the emergency room within 6 to 12 months getting part of my intestines out.

He was an amazing Dr. !! Thank you again for leading me to him!!!

I am so blessed!!

TomB's avatar

Wow, I am so happy for you! I really liked Dr. Grishkin and the care he takes to do it right. May God bless you and your recovery! Tom

Susan Rose's avatar

Thank you! So thankful for you also for letting me know about him. I know God led me to you so you could let me know about Doctor Grishkin. He was able to get me in right away. He took great care of me.

Susan Rose's avatar

I have to tell you, I am so thankful I went to him and got the mesh out. It was really inflamed and he said if I had not come, I would have ended up in the emergency room probably in 6 months with them trying to cut out part of my intestines. The mesh had attached to my intestines and he was able to cut it all out!! My stomach was even swollen, it is back flat now and I fell great again!! Thank you once again so much. I am forever grateful to you!!!!

I am going to go see him next week!!

Thank you again so much!!

Debbie, never said how she had hers removed, more than likely the same way. At our ages they are just battle scars. Don't use the same doc. Find a specialist who removes mesh. No reason it shouldn't be a Lap surgery. I had endometrois taken out that way.

It would scare me to, these modern surgeons are book smart, not experince smart.

The war on the human body is barbaric and must end. What they’ve done with mesh is not medicine, it’s mutilation — a profit-driven assault disguised as care. Women’s bodies aren’t broken machines for corporations to “fix.” They are whole, living systems, and it’s long past time to treat them with respect instead of butchery. https://cosmiconion.substack.com/p/child-abuse-history

They told me female genital mangling was some sort of Afro-MidEast thing. Seems it was the profit, not the Prophet.

Really important post !

This article and the comments read like a medieval torture chamber. Are these doctors? did they swear not to harm? Sounds more like the devil's advocates.

More wonderful moves from the “Family Business”… So many recalls, failures, corruption… Contaminated manufacturing facilities, talcum powder lawsuits, covid injections & now Tylenol… Millions of lives terribly affected..

Let's not forget to include glyphosate! Once sprayed on most food crops to destroy our nutrients, now it turns out they spray in on our forests AND to my horror (after spending a minimum of 3 extra dollars on each organic food item I buy) I discover they spray it on my front side walk for their crack and crevasse program twice a year. Right in my front yard! I buy all organic everything to avoid this poison and now it's no longer relegated simply to food crops here in Canada!

I wonder whether the mesh inserted for navel hernia is similar composition material and would have serious side effects; I know of someone who complains of severe pain.

I’m afraid that this is an indictment of the medical industrial complex generally, not just as it pertains to women’s health. For example, during Covid, I worried whether my teenage son should take the Covid shot. The risk of Myocarditis was said to be “mild,” easy to completely recover from, and “rare” by the medical authorities and media. This turned out not to be exactly true. Myocarditis can be a lifelong condition that greatly impacts your life and ability to exercise, do sports, etc. Even when I ask my doctor about the side effects of statins I get the brush off about how safe they are, and then I read about serious side effects on the internet. The result of this is that one does not know what to believe anymore. As one person put it during the COVID pandemic and controversy over the shots, “I’m just a dumb-bro reading the internet and trying to decide what’s best.” That’s how I feel about medicine now. It is a medical industrial complex focused on making money, and the doctors are short of time and often ill informed on nutrition or less profitable, less invasive methods. All you can do is not take anything they say at face value. You have to do your own research somehow and decide for yourself. And as you point out, that’s not psychologically easy. Plus I lack the expertise for such research and understanding. It stinks. Thank you for your terrific article. Thank God your wife didn’t do it.

Today, women with urinary incontinence problems are treated with Botox injections, as are cramping arms and legs after a stroke, which leads to long-term nerve damage, so it can only be performed by those doctors who know how much poison they can inject to avoid causing devastating permanent damage that prevents normal functioning. There are no long-term studies, but this new method is widely promoted today.

So timely and written so eloquently. Thank you for taking the time and the interest. I have an appointment in January to discuss native tissue prolapse repair. But you've caused me to stop in my tracks and rethink this. I'm going back to square one to reevaluate the necessity of surgery at all based on prolapse grade. Eexercise under the guidance of the right provider should be for everybody.

My wife’s first “surgeon” used the perfix mesh for an inguinal hernia that he initially thought was a tumor. The second surgeon who attempted to alleviate her severe pain failed as well. The third surgeon was unsuccessful in alleviating her continuing pain. Now we’re going to a fourth doctor who specializes in fixing other hernia doctors’ fuck ups. Here in Florida there is a 2 year statute of limitations for medical malpractice. The original “surgeon” who screwed this all up should have his license taken away for using a product that is under litigation. I’d love for you to do an article on hernia mesh repair.

Thank you for this informative article. 30 plus years ago I worked in big pharma and after 5 years of listening to and seeing the corruption I moved on to doing something else. Big Pharma and the insurance industry are as dirty as it gets, profit over patient's was alive and well 30 plus years ago and much worse now!

I believe that people need to talk and talk about the medical, big Pharma and insurance industry's.

Only WE can protect ourselves.

I'm so thankful for post's like this and subscribe to as many as I can afford.

I'm so happy I didn't get the jab. I'm almost sure I'd be dead by now if I had. My older brother has had so many problems from his and my brother in law even more. My doctor asked me why I didn't come in more often for wellness visits, my reply I'm feeling fine unlike when I got sick from the sanitizer in the air system at your office, it was so strong they almost had to call an ambulance for me, this was during Covid. My final comment was the doctor's office is for sick people and I want to stay well so....

By the way, do people realize how much money health care workers were paid to talk their patients in to receiving the jab? My step daughter is a nurse in a hospital and sent me a copy of the pay schedule they received for giving the shot. I'm done trusting the medical industry. I can read and make decisions I'm good!
