The thing that gets me about the Shroud isn’t belief. It’s the data.
No paint. No dye. No brush strokes. No known process.
A 3-D distance-encoded image sitting on the outermost fibers of linen, with real human blood laid down before the image formed.
That’s not religion talking. That’s a forensic anomaly.
And the one test everyone leans on — the 1988 carbon date — came from a single corner of a cloth that had been burned, handled, repaired, and possibly rewoven. The raw data shows it wasn’t even uniform across that tiny sample. Yet that one result was used to shut the entire investigation down.
Strange move, if you’re actually interested in truth.
So we’re left with an object that modern science still can’t reproduce, can’t fully explain, and can’t comfortably dismiss.
You don’t have to jump to conclusions about what it means.
But you do have to admit the obvious:
Something happened to that cloth that we don’t currently understand.
And in a world where we’re told “trust the settled science,” it’s worth noticing when a piece of physical evidence refuses to settle.
the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe is similar. Now 500 years old, the image is on a shirt made out of fibers that normally decay in 20 to 25 years. The image appears to be photographic, there is no paint, no brush strokes. While cleaning the glass (I believe in the late 1500's), acid was accidentally spilled on it and very little damage occurred, no damage to the image itself. During the 1920's someone planted a bomb just below the image, it went off, shattering glass windows 400 feet away, but neither the image nor the glass covering it were harmed. Today the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe where the image is displayed is the most visited Christian pilgrimage site in the world, hosting 20 million visitors annually.
Good catch, pimaCanyon. Same signature, different location.
A perishable cloth that refuses to decay.
An image that isn’t paint, yet holds detail like a photograph.
Violent physical events around it… and the image just sits there, untouched.
That’s not normal material behavior. That’s field behavior.
Shroud of Turin. Guadalupe tilma. Two artifacts, same pattern: light/imprint without brush, survival without explanation, and a story big enough to pull millions of minds into one focal point.
Whether someone calls it miracle, plasma imprint, or consciousness event doesn’t really matter. The pattern is the signal.
When matter starts acting like it remembers something, the Wolf pays attention.
Something in this reality can write directly onto the fabric of the world—and those marks don’t fade like everything else.
Okay, I'm not going to repeat myself though felt same way after reading this response. "Field behaviour" - what a perspective. I couldn't/wouldn't have thought of it, but boy does it resonate upon reading it. "Something in this reality can write directly onto the fabric of the world" - again, powerful words/notion.
MSB — you’re picking up exactly what I was trying to point at.
Most people are trained to look at objects as dead things — cloth, pigment, fibers, chemistry. But every so often you run into a case where the behavior doesn’t match a dead system. The imprint on the Shroud isn’t just “on” the cloth — it’s a kind of interaction with it. No directionality of brush strokes, no soak-through like a dye, no thermal scorch pattern… it’s as if the cloth registered a moment of contact with a field event.
That’s what I mean by field behavior.
If reality is a living field — not a pile of inert matter — then under certain conditions something in that field can encode information directly into material. Not symbolically, not artistically, but physically, the way a magnetic field can write onto tape or a laser can etch onto a surface. Except here the “writer” isn’t a machine we understand yet.
That idea sounds wild until you notice we already accept smaller versions of it:
Light writes images onto photographic film.
EM fields write data onto storage media.
Pressure waves write grooves into vinyl.
Even your own nervous system writes memory into tissue.
So the leap isn’t from “impossible” to “possible.”
It’s from known field interactions to a class of field interaction we haven’t mapped yet.
The Shroud — and a few other anomalies like it — look less like religious artifacts and more like recordings of an event. A boundary condition where something non-ordinary interacted with ordinary matter, and the cloth kept the receipt.
Once you entertain that possibility, a lot of doors open:
You don’t have to jump to any belief system to notice the pattern. You just have to be willing to say: the data doesn’t fit the current box.
And when the data won’t fit the box… it’s the box that has to get bigger.
Appreciate you taking it seriously enough to feel it land. That’s how these conversations move forward — one person at a time noticing the anomaly and refusing to look away.
I'm sorry, I just can't quote everything, and in fact normally no one likes long replies - except that there's not one redundant word here - I'd have to say my favourite line is: "the cloth kept the receipt." I do appreciate your elaboration and examples.
That is an awesome phrase. It's scary tho. I've a lot of experience with seeing kundalini/bioenergy and I have spent years in psi research coming up with direct evidence of mind through matter. I dont know what to conclude other than that we inhabit a mind soup and we seem to be wrestling for control over the levers that direct it. I find it scary cos we dont know what we are doing .. and we only hope a coherent God figure knows what he/she/it is doing either .
I find miracles quite frightening cos it shows how little we comprehend :/
It reminds me of the ancient site of Gobelki Tepe and its warnings to future civilizations. Instead of pursuing this discovery with further excavation, the WEF planted protected olive trees over it, effectively shutting it down. This manoeuvre is seen in just about every ancient archeological site. Believe what we say about it and shut up.
Sadly it seems evident by the day that ancient technologies have been learned and hidden from the masses by what looks like a global tribe of predator psychopaths. The Pyramids of Giza are just another example.
Indeed. There is a long list. Graham Hancock has some remarkable findings. Ethical Skeptic did a forensic analysis of the erosion markings on the Great Pyramid and shows that they are the marks of water from the Great Flood.
You have an incredible way with words that is just so powerful: "That’s not religion talking. That’s a forensic anomaly." Likewise with ideas: "And in a world where we’re told “trust the settled science,” it’s worth noticing when a piece of physical evidence refuses to settle." I've seen people write cleverly, but this is something beyond that. Amazing!
I’m not trying to be clever for its own sake. I’m trying to describe what’s actually sitting in front of us when we strip away the story layers. When an object like the Shroud refuses to behave the way our models say it should, that’s not a theological argument — it’s a signal. A physical anomaly. A clue that our map of reality is missing terrain.
And once you start seeing those anomalies — not just in relics, but in medicine, history, finance, even our own consciousness — you realize the pattern is everywhere: the official explanations settle for convenience, while the evidence keeps quietly whispering something bigger.
All I’m doing is pointing at the whisper and saying, “Maybe we should listen.”
It’s also highly possible that history including religion are written to control societies and that our history is not what has been told by colonisers. We are not the most advanced technically species on this earth. We are actually quite primitive. There is soooo much evidence all over the earth of advanced societies that lived here prior to the ancient buildings including Cathedrals like the one in Milan or the Archeon or Cologne Cathedral in Germany even the Pyramids are way older than they claim. Underground entire cities, underwater cities etc show their was advanced civilisations before 2000 years ago. I’ve studied transfer techniques with certain chemicals and even sunlight which transfer photographic images onto any substance including fabric stone etc. photography is said to be new tech but the laser sharp architecture on temples in India, precise mathematics in architecture and laser cuts they cannot reproduce today is evidence of a highly advanced civilisations prior to all the Church’s rewriting of the books to suit themselves. I’ve seen the cloth in Italy - it’s an image transfer 100%. Also the image looks like Cesare Borgia who was a military, cardinal, politician.
You’re not wrong that history gets written by whoever holds the pen at the time. That part is obvious once you start looking closely.
There are clearly layers to this place—old stone, underground cities, precision work that doesn’t fit the tidy timelines we were handed. Something older and more advanced than the official story left fingerprints all over the field.
Where I stay careful is jumping from “the timeline is wrong” to “this specific artifact is explained.” The Shroud still has some very strange characteristics that don’t behave like a simple transfer—especially the depth information and the way the image sits on the top fibers without soaking through. That doesn’t line up neatly with known chemical or sunlight transfer methods, at least not in a straightforward way.
As for the Borgia likeness, I’ve seen that argument too. Faces can be interpreted a lot of ways, especially when we’re dealing with archetypal imagery that tends to echo across time.
For me the Shroud stays in the category of an anomaly—something that doesn’t fit cleanly into either the official story or the easy debunk.
And anomalies are where the real clues usually live.
This artifact does not create my faith. It confirms my faith in the One True God, the Triune God, Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I like that "science" treats this so seriously, unlike food additives, nutrition, vaccines, pharma, or human health!! All of that is downstream from faith for true Believers. What about how the heart isn’t a pump it’s a vortex made of one muscle wrapped around itself. The blood swirls around & the momentum comes from the energy created within the vortex. They’re lying about everything.
Yes. And there's the Marian applications of modern science, too. I know first hand that there are now early blood tests that can be done in pregnancies to determine the gender of the baby -- if a Y chromosome shows up in the test, you know it's a boy. Science now knows that small portions of the fetal blood pass through the uterine wall... the ramifacations here should be obvious to all...
This 'conclusion' is not scriptural however - Jesus said believers were to 'take', not 'receive' communion/ eucharist or whatever you wish to call it, in 'memory' of Him....they are merely symbols to help appreciate all we have because of Him . His Holy Spirit is the one who leads and transforms us into becoming more Christlike and is not remotely passive and 'receiving' but active and ongoing - should we allow it.
I think you will be in for a long wait, "turd" is English slang for faeces, no one remotely serious would use such a name..

What a revelation! Thank you so much for this fantastic article. Even as a Christian, I have long doubted the validity of the Shroud simply because I could not believe it made it through nearly 2,000 years without it disintegrating. You have provided the evidence I would never have sought out and WOW, what incredible proof it is! It’s a travesty this evidence is suppressed and not required reading but, of course, Satan never stops working to erase and invalidate Christ in every way possible.
We all know Who He is. The Word. The Way, the Truth, and the Life. The Son of Man. Jesus, God's Name on the lips and minds and hearts of billions of us. ✝️🕊
Try lying down on your back with your hands over your genitals. You will find it takes effort to hold them there. Without effort your hands will slide off.
Unless someone was trying to protect His modesty and glued his hands over his penis 🙄his hands would have been by his sides.
On the other hand, maybe my arms are just really short, but I have it on good Authority that you will discover that thisids true for you, and presumably Christ.
Jesus was humiliated for us in every way, voluntarily, for our sins. Crucifixion victims at the time were crucified naked. His Mother had to watch that. We cover Him in reparation for modesty on the Crucifix in our homes and Churches. Your comment lacks any credibility.
Do you mean to say I should mimic a statue? And that will prove something?
I wonder if the Pieta could be imitated... could our Blessed Mother really hold her dead Son balanced on her lap?
No one here is talking about statues except you. You ought to read the medical description of a crucifixion - it's available online - if you want to shed tears over His Passion.
So weird that there is no context to the article about whose Shroud is being discussed! It's the Shroud of Jesus! And not to mention His name?
I read this Substack daily, for a fair assessment of all things, but the author is bending over backwards to avoid the obvious. The question is why?
The results of how the Shroud's imprints and texture and bloodstains can't be explained in any scientific way today; these can only be described as miraculous. And WHY is it that it's THE MOST examined historic relic of all time? Because it's known as the Shroud of Jesus.
And who is this miracle attributed to? Our Lord of course. How can any column on the Shroud ignore this? Boggles the mind.
It's like relating a detailed account of the Ten Commandments and the tablets, but never mentioning Moses, even once.
Or for non-believers, it's like recounting the history of the movie "The Sound of Music" and never once mentioning Austria, or the Von Trapp family name, or even the name Julie Andrews.
To have left out the name of Jesus, whose body it was that was covered by said "Shroud", was obviously -- and sadly, intentional. Context is everything.
There is a documentary called Silent Witness. I am not sure when it came out. It states that two Italian experts in antique fabric had petitioned to have inner portions of the shroud tested because the nuns at around 1200 had repaired it after the fire. The conclusion of the tests were that the other portions dated correctly by the time of the crucifixion. Also there were pollens found in the fibers of plants that grew in the area of the middle east and not Europe. Hard to find the documentary and I have it on a external hard drive but I need to locate it. I think I am going to start looking. Just another piece of information to look into.
Good question Carole. You'd think all these exotic examinations would have altered the fabric. I have no bias regarding the authenticity of the artifact, but how can such information be germane to current conditions?
Corporate fascist regimes are rather isolated from such esoteric speculation... Jus' sayin'...
Grok, who funded the experiments on the Shroud of Turin?
Grok:
The most prominent scientific experiments on the Shroud of Turin include the 1978 investigation by the Shroud of Turin Research Project (STURP) and the 1988 radiocarbon dating.
For the STURP team (a group of mostly American scientists who conducted extensive nondestructive testing in 1978, including photography, spectroscopy, and chemical analysis), there was no official sponsorship or external institutional funding. The scientists funded their own activities and travel. They also secured gifts and loans of technical equipment (valued at over $2 million) from various sources, such as companies and labs, to support the project.
The 1988 radiocarbon dating (which dated samples to 1260–1390 AD) was coordinated by the British Museum, under the direction of the Vatican (as the Shroud's custodian, via the Archbishop of Turin and the Holy See). Samples were provided to three independent labs: the University of Arizona, the University of Oxford, and ETH Zurich. The labs performed the tests using accelerator mass spectrometry, with oversight and coordination involving scientific advisors. No specific private donor or single external funder is prominently cited for the labs' work; it was facilitated through the Church's approval and the British Museum's role, with the labs contributing their expertise and resources.
Later studies, analyses of samples, or related research (e.g., critiques of the 1988 results or alternative dating methods like wide-angle X-ray scattering) have often been self-funded by individual researchers, supported by academic institutions, or received no external funding, as noted in various papers.
The Vatican has historically controlled access to the Shroud itself and approved major investigations but has not publicly detailed funding for most scientific access. Some modern Shroud-related research or challenges (e.g., replication efforts) have involved private incentives or personal funding from individuals interested in the topic.
Overall, major hands-on experiments were either self-funded by participants (STURP) or institutionally facilitated (1988 dating), without a single dominant private or governmental funder identified in primary sources.
People want to believe it's true (along with all of the context that is implied). Believing something is true because you don't have an alternate explanation is an error in reasoning (i.e. logical fallacy) called argument from ignorance.
Interesting subject. The eastern orthodox Christian bishops who have talked with about this considered the shroud of Turin is a fraud, I’ll be at a very beautiful fraud. A basis on historical tradition. The true image of Christ God allegedly was of his face only. This was displayed during the resurrection liturgy.(easter) in Constantinos and viewed by Western Crusaders. they had a very sophisticated mechanical mechanism that appeared to make the face of Christ float in the air. This would’ve been known to the Eastern Roman Empire during the fall of the eastern Roman Empire to the Ottoman Turks, the true face of Christ God was lost in the sea. this is what I was told. Some of the things on the shroud appeared to be very legitimate of Roman crucifixion of Christ day. The nails being put through the wrist rather through the palms, as it would have to be, unless they tied his arms with ropes, the metacarpals would support, the bodyweight. His hair being pulled back into a bun and also being braided was the tradition of Jewish men of that day, unlike many pictures of Christ with his hair flowing. That would’ve been an anathema scourging, which went well beyond the mosaic law of the time 33 lashes, mud exceeded this which would be in line with Roman punishment. Flagellants. The man of the shroud stood at the height of approximately 5 foot 11 and weighed approximately 180 pounds, muscular. The shroud shows all the wounds that the New Testament describes Christ suffered. if you look at many of the ancient Greek orthodox icons, they appeared to be based off of the shroud of Turin, namely, the dark circles under the eyes, one of the eyes being somewhat shut after hematoma, blunt force injury. And during that period of time, and even during the medieval times a death shroud was considered untouchable. So if it is the real thing in and it was displayed during the Eastern Roman Empire in Constantinople is it probably would’ve been folded up so it not appeared to be a death shroud. Also, the Crown of thorns, unlike the Catholic illustrations was more appropriately A crown like the Jewish kings of that day war not a wreath that Greek athletes receives during the Olympics. The crown of thorns put upon the man of the shroud was more like a skull cap, rather than a wreath. This would be appropriate at the time of Christ and the kings of Judah so it’s hard to know is it legitimate? I don’t know the face of Christ, disappeared after the fall of Constantinople by the ottoman Turks. The shroud of Turin reappeared in Europe shortly thereafter could they be the same perhaps
Also, the man run the shroud is missing both thumbs. This is what would happen if nails were put through the wrists. The median nerve would be damaged, which would cause the wrist to jump into the palms. when rigor mortis set in, this would keep the thumbs inside of the palms out of the view of those looking at the shroud of Turin
The thing that gets me about the Shroud isn’t belief. It’s the data.
No paint. No dye. No brush strokes. No known process.
A 3-D distance-encoded image sitting on the outermost fibers of linen, with real human blood laid down before the image formed.

Please let me know if my reply to you was successful..it suddenly disappeared from my screen. Grrr.
Fantastic article!! However, Jesus’ name wasn’t mentioned even once. I don’t understand why. We are supposed to BOLDLY claim our Savior!!
We all know Who He is. The Word. The Way, the Truth, and the Life. The Son of Man. Jesus, God's Name on the lips and minds and hearts of billions of us. ✝️🕊
AMEN!! It’s such a breath of fresh air to hear you say that!!
Thank you so much!! May He bless and keep you as well!!
God bless you and keep you.🙏🏻
Its fake and I can prove it.
Sorry to offend you Mrs SOB. I am not questioning Christ's divinity, which is undisputable.
I am just asking you to lie on your back and put your hands on your crotch on the same pose as 'Jesus'. See?
This rag is another example of catholic trickery.

Who funded all these experiments?
Thank you, Grok, for the non-answer.
Now, that made me laugh. 😂
Peace to you! ✌🏻
People want to believe it's true (along with all of the context that is implied). Believing something is true because you don't have an alternate explanation is an error in reasoning (i.e. logical fallacy) called argument from ignorance.
A negative of a negative,….. a surprising positive.

If all the geniuses in the world can't explain this, then I am free to believe what all Catholics believe but can't prove. Case closed Great article.
Truly fascinating, thanks !
“The Resurrection can never be scientifically ‘proven.” Hmm...I think that’s where “belief” comes in?
