The biggest error in psychiatry is that it takes a spiritual nature, looks to make it physical and chemical and unleashes more harm than good.

I argue our mind is this etheric vehicle we interact with, providing us with a plethora of info all at once. Unless we know for to decipher these thoughts, feelings, etc, we can be overwhelmed and some cases, snap.

This is a spiritual nature we live in and when we can see nature in everything, including the mind, everything becomes unlocked.

Here’s some older archived pieces I’ve written specifically on the mind:

Thanks for this piece. Love this work!

Very nice and insightful overview!

I'm currently at the midway point of tapered withdrawal from Lexipro. I tried to quit it two years ago but in weeks, as web searches indicate. I was so badly affected, I went back on it voluntarily. After reading the book "Unshrunk" by Laura Delano, in which the author is medicated starting at age 13, I disovered the slow taper. She describes the changes in the brain that have to be given time to correct. I started a slow taper at the end of August and am in my first week at half dose. I took four to five weeks between tapers. That book was a lifesaver to me. Come next March, I'll be free, more importantly, my brain will be free. I'm not depressed. I sought treatment after issues adjusting to sudden retirement! I'm fully adjusted now but with an unwanted addiction. I recommend the book to anyone trying to taper off psych meds. No, my so-called psychiatrist does not know and would disapprove so she'll be in the dark permanently. She gives bad advice anyway - like "go ahead and be rude if someone disrespects" me. No thank you. I'd rather be a sweet child of God. Don't tell on me. Lol.

Congratulations, getting off those poisonous pills is the best thing you can do. I’ve been taking adderall for 10 years and started tapering myself off of it 7-8 months ago, have gone from 60 milligrams a day down to 15-22 milligrams a day, hoping to be done with this shit by end of 2026 but won’t rush it, takes the brain a long time to recover from the damage shrinks cause to it.

Mrs. SOB's avatar

Congratulations to you as well! It is not easy to do! I had to go through the bumpy parts where I wanted to blame my brain. But I am resolute. The symptoms of tapering are symptoms from the drug, not my brain. I had to take an extra week twice at the lower dose until I felt "smoothed out," so to speak. I am on the downward slope but I can't rush now. Don't give up, you stay strong! ✌🏻

The Reverend Gonzo's avatar

Thanks, I know I’ll be off of it soon, once you awaken to the horror of these “medications” it hardens you to the reality you’re facing getting off of them so that’s why I’m taking it slow. I lucked out with lexapro, took it for like 3 months 20 years ago and stopped before I was thoroughly hooked on them, wishing you the best of luck and know people are out there rooting for you.

Mrs. SOB's avatar

Yes! It's mind over matter now - literally! Healing takes time and that's what we are doing. Take care and God bless you!

What the Evidence Suggests

This is a very good overview. However, a note about nutrition is in order here. The Carnivore studies are showing that this diet is excellent for anxiety and depression. Hoffer's studies show that his high dose niacin protocol provides recovery for 80% of schizophrenics.

More generally, the question is NOT to drug or not to drug (or to drug more judiciously), it is to drug or to employ any one of many other more holistic options to recover from "mental illness" and become more resilient.

Rob (c137)'s avatar

The irony is that there are much better drugs to help one lift out of depression like psychedelics. They were used with great success in therapies before the governments made them illegal.

These days they started to use some of them and have good results. I've heard of ketamine therapy getting good results for depression and anxiety.

C.M. Cardinale's avatar

Good point, and their having been made illegal deserved a torches-and-pitchforks response from the public. Alas, suppression of truth has long been too easy.

I just posted a short article about how SSRIs really do their job, which I learned from a great book in the 90s. Anyone interested, here's the link:

"Serotonin Isn't the Happy Hormone"

More like the exact opposite. Here's how SSRI's really work.

"Between 1987 and 2007, the number of children receiving Supplemental Security Income for mental illness rose from 16,200 to 561,569—a 35-fold increase. Bipolar disorder in children, virtually unheard of before the 1990s, increased 40-fold between 1994 and 2003. ADHD diagnoses expanded from roughly 1 percent of children to 10 percent or more."

This time period also reflects the change in the childhood vaccination schedule that saw huge increases in the number of injections children receive - from a handful to over 70 if the schedule is followed religiously. Until the link between "mental illness" and the nano particles of aluminum and mercury in vaccines is accepted, we will continue to see lives ruined by disorders that have less to do with trauma than they do with heavy metals interfering with the brain's electrical messaging system.

yantra's avatar

yes, i too think the vaccines are a huge component of the mental illness pandemic. but there is another exposure that increased dramatically in the same timeframe: wireless radiation from cellphones, wifi, baby monitors, laptops, security systems, "smart"watches, etc.

Bird's Brain's avatar

Very true! Not to mention that each generation is exposed to more toxic chemicals in the food, water and air. Everything is now "scented" from candles to beauty products and smelling like fake flowers has a toxic downside. It's death by a thousand cuts out here!

yantra's avatar

true - and i have read that the synthetic fragrances are chemically very similar to pesticides. and they managed to program people to believe that the horrible laundry fragrance smell means their laundry is clean!

Bird's Brain's avatar

Yes! We have a scent-free home and when you're not accustomed to artificial fragrances, going out in public is like being assaulted by perfume.

yantra's avatar

and BAD perfume at that. ( :

Yes, this is crazy.

Psychiatric illness is pseudoscience that comes purely from the imagination of man. Mental illness is the allopathic term for the symptoms of metal intoxication. My uncle was diagnosed schizophrenic but never tested for hypersensitivity to his mouthful of amalgam fillings or neurotoxic aluminium. His diagnosis came from the imagination of a psychiatrist.

The reason two twins don’t necessarily both get schizophrenia is because of differences in environmental exposures like dental work, vaccines or orthopaedic implants.

My fathers side of the family is the only side susceptible to becoming hypersensitive to metals when exposed. Their current state depends on current exposures. That side of the family have a mthfr variant which causes inefficient detox pathways and a susceptibility to becoming hypersensitive to metals once they go over their tolerance

Rockefeller medicine is all about expanding the boundaries of diagnosis of disease. More diseases = more patients = more money. And that's what it's about. Ideally every person will require treatment for something or other.

ShieldMaiden's avatar

The mind of any human child subjected to emotional/psychological abuse and trauma (and, of course, physical abuse/trauma affects mind) will develop adaptive coping mechanisms. Such mechanisms often promote survival in the basest sense, however survival does not necessarily equate with health. The cause of ill health (mental or physical) is almost uniformly ignored within academic and scientific circles. The cure does not lie in symptom treatment. Within the cause is the cure. Until cause is identified the rest is profit-based parasitism. I posit that most adult humans are walking wounded, some deeply. We have all been traumatized by virtue of the psychological terrain into which we were born and raised. The trauma is reinforced by all forms of societal governance and pop media. "It is no measure of good health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society" ~ Jiddu Krishnamurti.

The system known as psychiatry is subjective and unscientific and does great harm so how can an industry that itself promotes these myths based on lies ever admit to the truth?

David Rinker's avatar

As the world plunges into madness anything that enables one to escape reality into a fantasy world is helpful. Overriding the brains natural response to environmental conditions is key.

But the very next day — it gave way.

This year I’ll protect it…

By not loving at all. 🫀🎄

8️⃣ Regina the Jabbed Reindeer

Regina had a cycle,

That went rogue one night,

And if you ever saw it, you’d say,

“That flow’s not right.”

All of the other reindeer

Looked away in fright,

“But docs in lockstep say…

It’s nothing, you’ll be all right.” 🩸🦌

Santa, tell me if you’re really there,

Don’t make me boost again,

6️⃣ Frosty (3rd Booster Remix)

Frosty the No-Pulse Man,

Knew his heart was hot that day,

So he said, “Let’s run and have some fun,

Laughing all the way,

“They say it’s mild,” he gasped aloud—

As the beeping fades away. ☃️💓

More than you could ever know,

Make my wish come true…

Oh baby, all I want for Xmas is you… (back!!) 👶💔🎁

Next year you may be “living”—

In the past. 💀🎄

Unholy injection, so brutal and wild,

Sleep in permanent peace…

Sleep in permanent peace… 🌑🕯️

🎙️🎄 SOFT FESTIVE VOICEOVER — CLOSER 🎄🎙️(fire crackles, carols fade)

“And that was our festive countdown. If a little satire helps you pause, question, or step away from something that doesn’t feel right — then the magic of Christmas still works. Stay warm, stay curious…

And remember — your health isn’t a holiday tradition. 🎄✨

Good night. And Merry Xmas.” 🎄🎁

There is no easy and direct correlation between more diagnoses, treatment (what kind(s)?) and disability help needed — one must not underestimate environmental / societal changes over decades. In many cases, neurodiverse people could still hold jobs without problem when jobs demanded different things from us. In a sped-up capitalistic (, imperialist, patriarchal, …) world, however, this is often no longer the case. EVERY human is bad at multitasking. For many neurodiverse people, it is basically impossible. Count on top the immense strain of social masking in a world with more and more meetings, always-be-available, mass offices, the vanishing of quiet / manual jobs focusing on one thing only? You got a whole different reason why many of us suddenly need disability money because we can no longer be self-sufficient in a world that demands for us to do 5 jobs in 1, under highly adverse conditions, and then also be liked by neurotypicals, taking part in their socializing or lose the job we already suffer trying hold down as is.

Love reading your content. Imho Psychiatry is the second most destructive thing for humanity after wars. It has done immense damage to humanity and I wish this field along with the drug making companies simply annihilate into thin air :) Wishful thinking but thats how I feel about it.

Yes, and "Anatomy of an Epidemic," that unbelievably excellent 2010 / 2015 book, by Robert Whitaker (author of Mad in America) is a good place to confirm these 10 myths! Well worth reading this book! Whitaker argues that it is not IN SPITE of an ever-increasing scope of mental illnesses (of all flavors) are more psychiatric drugs Rx'd, but BECAUSE of this huge increase in such prescriptions! But our Medical Cartel LOVES EVERYTHING being a 'disease' so that they can swim in a tidal wave of money. I sure wish people would understand that the Hippocratic Oath ("Above all, do no harm") is SO "outdated" and, of course, IGNORED by our medical system, unless you're a "holistic" practitioner of some stripe.
