However, I find the explanation that "plant foods are bad" to be superficial and inadequate, for all the reasons laid out in this article. Nobody asks "are plant foods inherently bad for human health or is there some other reason(s) that so many have trouble eating them nowadays"? And if I raise this question in a Carnivore forum, I will either get ignored or shouted down, or both. There is a type of orthodoxy that has developed which is hard to penetrate. Groupthink.
I have a couple other observations.
The notion that "the diagnosis creates the market" is true, but only because the medical cartel has created a system of insurance / government programs where a diagnosis, and the associated standard of care, translates into money in its pocket. One could envision a different system where financing works differently, where diagnosis would not be the cash cow that it is today.
I will also add an analogy of my own about diagnosis. When we are having an argument, we recognize that calling someone a name is a fallacy, in particular it is referred to as ad hominem. It does not provide for a valid refutation of another's point. Diagnosis is also the process of assigning a name to something. And, in the same way, this name-calling does not really prove that the doctor, in this case, has arrived at the root cause of the patient's suffering or even that he knows how to ameliorate the patient's condition.
