As children in Belgium in the 1960s this was still known - the tonsils are protection against allergies. Our tonsils were not taken out, they were peeled. I was still very small, but I remember by cousin, 5 years my junior - it was very painful too. But probably not as bad as an adult cousin, whose doctor told her 2 years ago that removing her tonsils would solve the problem of recurring colds. She said it was the worst pain she ever suffered. The American doctor who looked at my throat years ago was utterly surprised I still had my tonsils, obviously it is routine here to remove every kid's tonsils.

Why do doctors think we have superfluent parts (appendix, tonsils, etc)?

To answer your last question - because they are stupid and don't understand anatomy OR physiology properly! Plus they adhere to the germ theory, not the terrain theory.

I had chronic tonsillitis my entire childhood in the 70’s. I was scheduled to get them out at age 18. I read somewhere to stop milk so I did. I never had another sore throat again!

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

A milk allergy! I hope people read your comment and try this before having this horrible surgery performed (on themselves or their children). Thank you STH.

STH's avatar

I don’t even have a true milk “allergy”, but I do test sensitive to casein and whey on an IgE test. Now I limit all dairy.

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

Strange enough I am not good with milk, but I can eat cheese on a regular basis and eat yoghourt every day. No problems at all. No idea why - and won't be tested, because I am sure they will find something! (I avoid doctors as much as possible)

Find a farm that sells raw milk.

That will be the end to any problems.

I had completely stopped consuming milk.

That along with other things led to an 80lbs weight loss.

Fast forward a little over a decade I now find myself on an amish organic regenerative farm and I drink more milk than ever.

Raw milk is wonderful, after having not drank milk at all in over decades to drinking all I want currently with no health problems whatsoever, no weight gain...no nothing. The cows have never been vaxxed, filled with pharma or any GMO feeds....

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

Unfortunately I am not in Amish country or even within 200 miles from it. Raw milk is for sale about 65 miles away, but I use very little - not worth the while.

Smedley Butler's avatar

Let's be clear that it is not raw milk.

Milk in the grocery stores is disgusting.

I work on an Amish organic regenerative farm and the milk.......it is a beautiful thing.

At the age of 10 1/2, I had a severe reaction to what I think was a DPT shot. High fever, enormous swelling of my arm, nausea and vomiting over a three day period. Six months later, I "manifested" tonsilitis. Fortunately, I was given the slightly lesser of two evils in the form of penicillin. I have never had a "vaccine" since. I also have never had a reccurence of tonsilitis, but there is a spot in my throat that remains sensitive to high histamine foods such as black pepper and vinegar.

My answer to your question is,

They are money making procedures just like most of the medical procedures they offer ???

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

probably the closest to truth answer!

Probably because their own brains were removed! :<)

I was horrified my parents obeyed a butcher and scheduled me for the worst nightmare of my youthful Life. I was just reaching glee in singing from the depths of my belly up and down my bedroom's staircase (acting as my stage).

In the 1960s, I just got into the study of health...and was doing well, until I followed Adele Davis's information to eat 125 grams of protein daily...and packed on weight. I wound up with unnatural cells at every check up; and a slew of colds and sore throats from all the mucous in dairy. My small son ate the same way and he had the same health issues. Unfortunately, we both had our tonsils out at the same time. I became fat and lethargic; plagued with gaining weight and low energy for years. Adele Davis died of cancer at seventy. Her books, such as, Let's Get Well, started the Protein Myth in the 1960s. . In 1973, after i finished reading Health Secrets from Europe by Dr. Paavo Airola, It inspired me to become a vegetarian; no meat, fish or chicken. I got into the best health condition of my life eating lots of fresh fruits and raw vegetables. In 1981, I did what i call the Creator's marathon I ran non-stop for 4. hours and 23 minutes on country highways in Connecticut...No longer fat and lethargic. The only vaccine i ever had was in 1938, in order to go to kindergarten. I am blessed to have no health problems and use no medication at 92.

God blessed you for it all. Im nearing 76, Sept. the last shot I got was in the form of a sugar cube for polio. My modern mother admired her family doctor COHEN and followed rules and advice of COHEN because she trusted him even though she was highly intelligent and questioned nearly everything else, considering options before making final decisions. I think she secretly had a crush on COHEN. He was a fit handsome physician with a gentle touch of endearment. I have chickens now and eat lots of eggs and a big variety of real foods. The tonsillectomy has been my one surgery and never, ever, do I take a pill or counter remedy. Fermented garlic in raw honey suits me fine.

I'm glad vegetarianism worked for you. It most certainly did not for me! My mother forced my sister and I to be vegetarian growing up. It was crappy vegetarianism, though. She was too lazy to do it properly. I was a scrawny, very underweight child. I got a lot of colds. As soon as I had my first pay from a casual job in my mid-teens, I bought ham & tuna! My mother made me eat it outside if had it at home. I didn't really care, though, I was just glad to have MEAT! I have never looked back. I am much healthier, and stronger, with animal protein in my system. A nice roast chicken with veggies is a great meal for me. Turns out I am also Coeliac so meat is a much better option than wheat-based foods, obviously!

However, I could be vegetarian if I had to be - but it's got to be done RIGHT. And it takes so much more time to do it properly than when you eat meat. We're a busy family of 6. And we all have a variety of food allergies and intolerances, no thanks to environmental toxicants out of our control, and that hubby & I had vaccines when younger. I don't have the time to do vegetarianism properly currently. Plus it doesn't work at all for my husband. I swear, he would actually do well on the carnivore diet!

My mother is still alive, in her late 70s, having skin cancers cut out of her - left, right and centre. Has been for years. She barely gets enough nutrients, her protein intake is low, and she tires easily. I think she would've done a lot better eating meat, myself. She's a lazy cook.

But there is no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to diet. You've got to do what works for your body. I'm glad you found what works for your body :-)

Out of curiosity, did your son continue vegetarianism in his adult years?

Barbara Charis's avatar

My first three children were being raised, when I was married...and my husband was not a vegetarian. He made fun of me, when i became a vegetarian in 1973...and finally four years later, I left with my 4th child that I raised. This son who is now 50, doesn't touch dairy, because it made him deathly ill, but he eats some meat. I have two daughters. My younger daughter primarily eats lots of fruit and steamed veggies. This is what she fed my one and only granddaughter... My older daughter eats meat about once a week. We live together and she raises chickens for eggs. I went over 50 years without eating meat, poultry or fish. Then, my daughter wanted me to eat some bison. However, I keep daily food records of the protein and fat grams I consume...and every time I had bison...I went over my protein and fat gram max. It is very hard to keep those items down to a healthy level. Excess protein and fat contribute to the growth of tumors. It happened to me in 1976. I got a rapidly growing vaginal tumor and two doctors offered me no guarantees, unless it was taken care of immediately. Well, I said a prayer and a book came into my hands on raw fruit and veggies. I felt it was an answer. In less than 3 months the tumor was gone. In 1988, I was using too many carbs and it triggered off the growth of an ugly bulbous tumor with spikes coming out of it above my right breast. I got rid of it by eliminating the food, which caused it ...excess carbs in honey. i was using in many daily herb teas. Live and learn.

Amazing what the right diet does, eh? Well done you for persevering and eating right for YOUR body. You sound like you have a VERY sensitive system, but I'm glad you keep checks on it to know where its sweet zone is.

Excellent news that the right diet can eliminate tumours, too. I certainly found that kicking dairy allowed my body to heal up old injuries from decades ago, like an old broken toe that was never quite right, and scars at the back of my throat from countless throat infections. My joints all work much better, too. Getting rid of ALL dairy from my diet also allowed my brain to think better, and extrapolate things out more. So basically, dairy made me sick and dumb! :-D

I think I'm OK with meat, though, because I healed up a lot of things whilst still eating it. But lamb doesn't seem to agree with me so much these days, so I'm mostly avoiding that one, now. Beef and chicken and fish seem best for me. I prefer the white meats - but with breastfeeding my 4-mth old son, I seem to need a bit of red meat, too! He's a heavy feeder.

I'm pretty active, and my body seems to do well with the protein from meat. But, with the right vegetarian diet, I'm sure I'd be OK, too. I just don't have the time for that right now! Maybe when the kids are older/have left home I'll do more vegetarian cooking that's tailored to MY needs...but poor old hubby might have to fend for himself, ha ha! :-D

I am very much into fruit...and I can eat a lot of fruit, without gaining weight. For the first 12 years of my life...There was very little to eat...and so as soon as I went to live with an aunt when I was twelve...I went from 90 pounds up to 122 pounds in 5 months. She fed me dairy at every meal. When i got back home, my weight kept going up...to 150 pounds. For many of my married years, I weighed 150 pounds. Today I weigh 105 pounds.

Robyn S's avatar

Yep, loads of dairy & fruit and I barely put on weight as a kid! I've been 135-140lbs for most of my adult life, but since I don't do much chiropractic anymore, I'm closer to 150lbs. More exercise is the key! Naughty me. BUT, increased (meat) protein in my diet allowed me to gain more muscle mass, which was rather useful for my physical job! And going gluten-free also defined my muscles more, although it never changed my weight.

Funny, I don't eat much fruit these days. I like lots of fruits, especially blueberries, but my body just doesn't seem to want them much these days. I think once I've finished breastfeeding (probably in 2 years; whenever he decides to end it!), I'll eat more fruit again. Gotta listen to your body, right? It's just so important!

Barbara Charis's avatar

Just remember organic, pesticide-free fruit has nutrients...cooked food loses its nutrient-value. Most cooked food is heated over 300 degrees...and little nutrient-value is left.

I was born in 1952, and my health followed the path you describe, even though I got few vaccinations. Looking back, my problem was a stagnant lymphatic system due to poor diet and a tendency to pick up toxic energies. I had tonsillitis frequently and the occasional strep throat, but fortunately, I was deemed allergic to penicillin. Back then, they took out tonsils as a rule, but my blood wouldn't clot fast enough, so I still have mine. I followed the pattern of sore throat, laryngitis, bronchitis over and over. The pattern was broken eventually. I consider myself blessed to be healthy at this point. I was saved from a number of interventions when I was very young. One blood test, my white cell count was way off, but they were willing to admit they had no clue what it meant, so nothing was done. Thank you for spreading the word about this. You are helping to save children.

The constructs of Nature evolved over trillions upon trillions of transactions, modifications, and resolution of biological exchange. So "doctors" in their infinite hubris, determine that Nature is incompetent... O'righty then...

Surgical removal of 'offensive' constructs should begin with the doctors themselves...

What exactly is the difference between tonsillitis and diphtheria? Could it be that diphtheria is simply an extreme form of tonsillitis?

What struck me years ago while researching diphtheria was the fact that the disease appears to be essentially nothing more than an extreme—and often life-threatening—form of tonsillitis. I was particularly impressed by a clinical report from 1890 by the naturopathic physician Heinrich Lahmann; he described a diphtheria outbreak within a family and noted during his case assessment that the symptoms were more severe the more the family members had consumed meat of "questionable origin"—presumably spoiled meat teeming with toxins associated with decomposition or putrefaction.

His treatment approach focused on supporting detoxification through enemas and warm, moist compresses. His hypothesis was that when the body is unable to detoxify via the intestines or skin due to existing physiological burdens, it attempts to do so—out of necessity—through the internal mucous membranes; this, he argued, explains the life-threatening respiratory obstructions caused by swelling in the throat. You can find his report in my magazine *impf-report* No. 94/95 (Sept./Oct. 2012).

Lee HammMX's avatar

I thought that these days, the mucal membranes were considered the first line of defense. This is why many people cough after consuming dairy, as they are producing mucous.

I had my tonsils removed at around 7 or 8 years old in 1957-8. Long before the massive round of injections, though I received the required ones, due to a believing mother. That surgery tought me to NEVER trust doctors or their procedures! I felt I had "tonsillitis" for the same reasons I sometimes got the "flu" or a bad cold. I didn't think cutting my throat would help. I still lament the loss of a great guardian of my entire biological system. But the USA continues this practice religiously. One reason I never had kids. I'd never agree to any if the "routine" practices in this country, medical or otherwise.

Thankfully I have my tonsils intact. I see tonsils anagrams to:

- no silts

- silos tn

Which might indicate their role. But more significant is adenoids which can become:

- anodised

- aid nodes

Which definitely ties in.

It grieves me that so much harm has been done by the ignorant doctors/surgeons

All these comments on tonsils are anecdotal, so let me add one more. My daughter was born long before the vaccine schedule became obtrusive, and was small at birth and remained so through infancy. When she was three or for months old she began snoring and it was hard to believe the sound coming from that tiny girl. Imagine a 300 lb sumo wrestler with sleep apnea. Turned out she had adult sized tonsils; not infected, just big. They were large enough that they touched her uvula and you could not see the back of her throat. As she grew she continued to snore. Finally, when she was about seven the decision was made to remove them. Regardless of any suggestion that this had on her health, it greatly improved her ability to breathe and sleep normally.

Robyn S's avatar

I have a friend whose family has abnormally large tonsils as well. Yes, tonsils DO grow large to begin with, because they have such an important role to play. Generally, the body plays catch-up around them and there shouldn't be any serious problems. A 2-yr old's tonsils are often full-sized, yet it takes years for the rest of the body to reach full-sized. It's just how it is. However, occasionally you get people, like your daughter, and my friend's family, whose tonsils are actually too big for their throats, and they snore terribly, even when very young! They can also struggle with swallowing, and at worst, breathing. There's just not enough room in there. In those cases, removal could actually be life-saving. I know another family where if the son didn't have his tonsils removed, I'm pretty sure he'd be dead by now. Of course, if they'd just removed dairy from his diet like I suggested, he might not have needed the surgery at all!

I had both adenoids and tonsils whipped out when 10, in England. Throat haemorrhage followed …nice. Have had blocked nose/congestion issues ever since. My mother did not let me have all the jabs as a kid- no idea why. A random selection.

The evil glitter lobbers. I had strep throat and bladder infections every three to six months from infancy to about 4 . The Pen VK had stopped working well. One day the doctor just showed up because he thought I might be dead. I spent the 1st year of life being held by a mother with post partum psychosis, suicide level depression, severely untreated hypothyroidism after partial thyroidectomy from Graves - listening to her unearthly sobs for hours in a darkened rooms. When I could reach the low windows on my tip toes to see the sun, I ate the lead paint off the sills. My mother. to her credit, refused the tonsillectomy. She told the doctor they had to be there for a reason. Some glitter revisited.

Thomas E. Levy, MD, JD, in his book, "Hidden Epidemic," and in interviews, discusses chronic tonsillitis in adults caused by root canals and cavitations from missing teeth. The lymphatic system drains these infections directly into the tonsils.

He would recommend resolving the infections with the expertise of a biological dentist. As an adult, he had his tonsils removed, but says a better option these days may be to have ozone injected.
