In recent years I have oft recalled the craze for pet rocks. It really was a thing.
i'm 80, discovered Theosophy in early 20's and drank so deeply their international VP invited me to come to Adyar India, their world HQ. By then I'd passed through the 60's and with mind-opening nootropics, and continued with studies and practices in Maharishi mantrams, inner and outer (attempted) schools of "alchemy," Mantak Chia Taoism energy practices, .,..even spend 5 years as a spy inside Scientology to leave with their best practices that work, and abandon the bureaucratic overstructure of fanatical true believers.
And here is the rub: fanatical true believers. They are everywhere, people who need to find authority to follow. From such a group some smaller number will graduate and begin to steer their own ship.

You are right in all that you say, but Unbekoming and Escape Key have taken this discussion many steps farther by asking the question: What are the sources of the models or paradigms which underlay and made possible the outrageous abrogation of human rights and liberties during the covid era? I think they are right to pose this question and to host persons like myself who can offer an answer to that inquiry. We might ask in turn, did the metaphysical base of the late 20th century in general provide a complicit ground group which would automatically offer unreasoning cooperation to the imposition of medical tyranny? I hope the answer to that is no. What do you think? For example, are Scientologists or Theososphists likely to just do as ordered, no matter the scientific basis for the order?
There is a wide spectrum of types in all movements. Some, like me, are curious and will draw from many wells. Others are not so confident of their ability to parse out answers and, fair enough, seek "experts." Our current western culture has elevated the image of the scientist to be impartial and motivated by a romanticized Honest Search For Truth.
Turns out, they are just human, with mortgages to pay, desires for fame and riches. Ironically, the 1% who actually are motivated by finding out Truth...are ostracized by the group. Old story.
Survival and motivations for pleasure are our basic instincts. Some find pleasure in altruism and can rise in ethical thought beyond tribal and group think.

I'm in my late 70s. I began college 1967 and encountered all the "counterculture" presented that generation. I became disenchanted through "yoga instructors" consistently bedding female aspirants and a self-anointed India-Indian "guru" in 1971 who demanded $50/lecture and much higher for personal consultation.
I soured on New Age anything. It was a rip-off. It was a charade. It was phony.
A decade passes and I move to Northern California encountering a Buddhist movement well known to people. I tried some chanting. I had some results. With further encouragement, I found myself in a completely different place with a totally different understanding of my life and karma. I changed my life with a fundamental understanding toward myself and world so incredibly different from what I had previously known that I was flabbergasted. I was thunderstruck that any religious practice could result in changing our daily habits and lives.
I participated heavily in the organization which, even today, I consider good training. I parted from them for many years and rejoined much older. I enjoyed the organization, which had changed dramatically, and their activities.
Covid arrived and Zoom meetings replaced personal attendance. The organization has a system whereby those with greater experience practicing can advise those with less. To be honest, these consultations were crucial in my initial breakthrough. The people, upon hindsight, were honest and thoroughly qualified with great wisdom and compassion.
Most times guidance simply involved helping the person renew their resolve to confront their dilemma with an underpinning of faith. On rare occasions, a glimpse into another world might arrive. Medical advice was never given. The person needing guidance was encouraged to strengthen their practice and develop their own insight into what and how they should proceed with their medical treatment. Some people experienced complete remissions and overnight cures with medical records to prove the change.
Nothing extraordinary happened in 2020.
2021 rolled around and pressures mounted everywhere for everyone to vaccinate. A senior leader arrived from LA to our area and related his experience with becoming extremely sick and entering the hospital on a Zoom meeting. He followed this testimonial with an extremely slick video produced by the organization promoting Covid vaccination.
We had a public forum on which we could post anything. I remarked that Ivermectin was showing excellent results for those who became ill and that caution should be exercised in deciding whether or not to get the vaccination as the technology had not been sufficiently tested...but everyone needed to make their own choice.
I could visibly see the leader looking embarrassed. Although an African-American, he was literally blushing.
The next week, the public forum had been shut down. Interpersonal messages (between people) were allowed and messages to the leader present and moderator of the meeting.
I was stunned and shocked. They were blatantly censoring information. I never returned to another Zoom meeting and have never rejoined the organization after Covid restrictions were lifted.
Is their religious insight and process valid? Yes. I've experienced it. Were they corrupted as so many religious organizations were? I suppose so. Part of this organization's problem, in my estimation, is the over-representation of national leaders from big cities which this outcome taught me they essentially controlled policy. If we remember, big cities, largely Democrat controlled, were noticeably insistent and authoritarian in demanding universal vaccination.
During this time, I had joined a psychic's forum online and learned about mystic insight; Blavatsky; Steiner; etc. I read enormously every topic from the Covid Caper to any number of mystical groups. I red pilled myself in 2015 and was already familiar with concepts like NWO, Illuminati, WEF, etc.
I think Steiner might be correct that the way forward is the human developing mystical insight for themselves. Developing clairvoyance to recognize truth. I continue to practice my Buddhism by myself, for I know it works. I'll never practice with the organization again.
I'm wary of all spiritual groups and doctrines. Here's the rub as we all know. Much truth resides within so much spiritual dogma from Hermeticism to Rosiecrucianism to esoteric Christianity to whatever.
The spiritual quest for myself is purely individualized at this point, and I believe I receive enormous rewards in understanding and perception of the world.
We live in highly dangerous times because nearly everything around us is corrupted, but truth also continues. The problem for the individual becomes a highly concentrated one of developing the discernment (about which so many speak today) to distinguish truth from untruth.

I am somewhat familiar with what you describe about AB as well as Madame Blavatsky. My late SO had all of the books and had read them all. Early on, he tried to teach me things he had learned, but I remained unsold on what was to me, insanity. I recall telling him that it was easy for Blavatsky to claim expertise on something no one could prove. After a while he lost interest and quit talking about them.

You are well advised, I think, to point this out. There was a reason Krishnamurti rejected the Theosophical paradigm. If Alice Bailey did receive her primary inspiration for the New Word Order idea from the Fabian Society or associates of same, and then did not give proper credit, and then after that, attributed the idea to transcendent beings of supernal nature, then a falsehood was perpetrated. Further, if no such transcendent beings actually exist, an even greater falsehood was perpetrated. And as for those who caved during covid, yes, it is a shame, and does not reflect well on their respective organizations. One would hope Mary Baker Eddy would have seen through the facade. Now Alice Bailey is a different matter. In her book Esoteric Healing, she comes out in favor of vaccination. Now of course, that book was written in the late 1940s, so vaccines back then were a different animal from the mRNA injection. But here is one of the main problems I had with Lucis leadership, which I contacted directly via email on this issue. I pointed out that "the Tibetan" who allegedly "dictated" Esoteric Healing could not have been talking about the mRNA injections, for only pathogen based vaccines existed in the 1940s. Lucis leadership would not even explore this point. The absolute top of the organization responded to me on this question with a statement that whatever AAB/The Tibetan wrote in the 1940s applied in 2020 and no further discussion was required. With that, she ended the communication. So, sorry, no, in this case, the founder was actually responsible for the organization's position on the wrong side of the issue.

Specifically, Esoteric Healing says that vaccines do not harm the etheric body and so there is nothing about which to be worried. So Bailey's "source", the alleged Tibetan Master DK, could say that there is no effect on these more important levels, so just go on and get injected with pathogens because this is the modern thing to do. I now of course know that Bailey's environment while in the TS was saturated with Fabian Society propaganda, which included population reduction and genetic manipulation. Most unfortunately, it sure looks like the Bailey literature urged persons to take medical treatments which were not only absolutely harmful, but likely also tied to a general program of planetary population management that we must not condone.

I so agree. There is no quality of life without a well-functioning physical body. I also think it is nonsense to disregard obvious facts like this. Mother Nature has given us these great bodies and it is our responsibility to care for them correctly. This is a big part of my daily life.

In recent years I have oft recalled the craze for pet rocks. It really was a thing.
i'm 80, discovered Theosophy in early 20's and drank so deeply their international VP invited me to come to Adyar India, their world HQ. My neighbor Dick Balfour-Clark was the man who raised Krishnamurti. Later in life i ran into the local Alice Bailey group in Los Angeles, and attended a few of their Moon ceremonies. By then I'd passed through the 60's and with mind-opening nootropics, and continued with studies and practices in Maharishi mantrams, inner and outer (attempted) schools of "alchemy," Mantak Chia Taoism energy practices, .,..even spend 5 years as a spy inside Scientology to leave with their best practices that work, and abandon the bureaucratic overstructure of fanatical true believers.
And here is the rub: fanatical true believers. They are everywhere, people who need to find authority to follow. From such a group some smaller number will graduate and begin to steer their own ship.
You start off discovering the promise of lost or secret wisdom; you realize you have been programmed by society into a rather dumbed down no-trouble making placidity. Honestly, few want to remain explorers, expanding their maps...and experiences. It's hard work. So most settle down into some form of security and conformity, whether they wear Buddhist or Hindu beads, a suit and a tie, fancy gowns, or a loin cloth.

You are right in all that you say, but Unbekoming and Escape Key have taken this discussion many steps farther by asking the question: What are the sources of the models or paradigms which underlay and made possible the outrageous abrogation of human rights and liberties during the covid era? I think they are right to pose this question and to host persons like myself who can offer an answer to that inquiry. We might ask in turn, did the metaphysical base of the late 20th century in general provide a complicit ground group which would automatically offer unreasoning cooperation to the imposition of medical tyranny? I hope the answer to that is no. What do you think? For example, are Scientologists or Theososphists likely to just do as ordered, no matter the scientific basis for the order?
There is a wide spectrum of types in all movements. Some, like me, are curious and will draw from many wells. Others are not so confident of their ability to parse out answers and, fair enough, seek "experts." Our current western culture has elevated the image of the scientist to be impartial and motivated by a romanticized Honest Search For Truth.
Turns out, they are just human, with mortgages to pay, desires for fame and riches. Ironically, the 1% who actually are motivated by finding out Truth...are ostracized by the group. Old story.
Survival and motivations for pleasure are our basic instincts. Some find pleasure in altruism and can rise in ethical thought beyond tribal and group think.
The movie A Beautiful Mind purports to show that John Nash won a Nobel prize for mathematically proving that group cooperation will actually produce more profit/pleasure for all, rather than the Alpha takes all. So is this true and being applied by wise economists and world leaders? Maybe the sadder truth is, few rise to that level of universal interest.

I'm in my late 70s. I began college 1967 and encountered all the "counterculture" presented that generation. I became disenchanted through "yoga instructors" consistently bedding female aspirants and a self-anointed India-Indian "guru" in 1971 who demanded $50/lecture and much higher for personal consultation.
I soured on New Age anything. It was a rip-off. It was a charade. It was phony.
A decade passes and I move to Northern California encountering a Buddhist movement well known to people. I tried some chanting. I had some results. With further encouragement, I found myself in a completely different place with a totally different understanding of my life and karma. I changed my life with a fundamental understanding toward myself and world so incredibly different from what I had previously known that I was flabbergasted. I was thunderstruck that any religious practice could result in changing our daily habits and lives.
I participated heavily in the organization which, even today, I consider good training. I parted from them for many years and rejoined much older. I enjoyed the organization, which had changed dramatically, and their activities.
Covid arrived and Zoom meetings replaced personal attendance. The organization has a system whereby those with greater experience practicing can advise those with less. To be honest, these consultations were crucial in my initial breakthrough. The people, upon hindsight, were honest and thoroughly qualified with great wisdom and compassion.
Most times guidance simply involved helping the person renew their resolve to confront their dilemma with an underpinning of faith. On rare occasions, a glimpse into another world might arrive. Medical advice was never given. The person needing guidance was encouraged to strengthen their practice and develop their own insight into what and how they should proceed with their medical treatment. Some people experienced complete remissions and overnight cures with medical records to prove the change.
Nothing extraordinary happened in 2020.
2021 rolled around and pressures mounted everywhere for everyone to vaccinate. A senior leader arrived from LA to our area and related his experience with becoming extremely sick and entering the hospital on a Zoom meeting. He followed this testimonial with an extremely slick video produced by the organization promoting Covid vaccination.
We had a public forum on which we could post anything. I remarked that Ivermectin was showing excellent results for those who became ill and that caution should be exercised in deciding whether or not to get the vaccination as the technology had not been sufficiently tested...but everyone needed to make their own choice.
I could visibly see the leader looking embarrassed. Although an African-American, he was literally blushing.
The next week, the public forum had been shut down. Interpersonal messages (between people) were allowed and messages to the leader present and moderator of the meeting.
I was stunned and shocked. They were blatantly censoring information. I never returned to another Zoom meeting and have never rejoined the organization after Covid restrictions were lifted.
Is their religious insight and process valid? Yes. I've experienced it. Were they corrupted as so many religious organizations were? I suppose so. Part of this organization's problem, in my estimation, is the over-representation of national leaders from big cities which this outcome taught me they essentially controlled policy. If we remember, big cities, largely Democrat controlled, were noticeably insistent and authoritarian in demanding universal vaccination.
During this time, I had joined a psychic's forum online and learned about mystic insight; Blavatsky; Steiner; etc. I read enormously every topic from the Covid Caper to any number of mystical groups. I red pilled myself in 2015 and was already familiar with concepts like NWO, Illuminati, WEF, etc.
I think Steiner might be correct that the way forward is the human developing mystical insight for themselves. Developing clairvoyance to recognize truth. I continue to practice my Buddhism by myself, for I know it works. I'll never practice with the organization again.
I'm wary of all spiritual groups and doctrines. Here's the rub as we all know. Much truth resides within so much spiritual dogma from Hermeticism to Rosiecrucianism to esoteric Christianity to whatever.
The spiritual quest for myself is purely individualized at this point, and I believe I receive enormous rewards in understanding and perception of the world.
We live in highly dangerous times because nearly everything around us is corrupted, but truth also continues. The problem for the individual becomes a highly concentrated one of developing the discernment (about which so many speak today) to distinguish truth from untruth.

Early on, he tried to teach me things he had learned, but I remained unsold on what was to me, insanity. I recall telling him that it was easy for Blavatsky to claim expertise on something no one could prove. After a while he lost interest and quit talking about them.

You make many good points in this post. I have to add that we cannot judge a teacher like Alice Bailey by whatever remains of her organization. Just like we can't throw out all of what Christian Science's Mary Baker Eddy taught because of the Christian Scientist remaining organization rolls over on the vaccine issue or any other organization that started out with stellar teaching because THEIR PRESENT DAY "FOLLOWERS" ALL OF THEM FOLDED during the COVID Scam. And here is a word about hierarchy. All of Nature functions within hierarchies. No one can escape hierarchy. The US's Constitutional Republic is structured in hierarchical laws. The key when we are seeking cosmic, universal truth is to ask 3 questions: What do the ancient scriptures of all ancient traditions say when properly translated, when following the techniques of each tradition (if you can locate them!) what are the personal results, and what does solid, honest, objective science have to say about the results. Yes, but also no. If Alice Bailey did receive her primary inspiration for the New Word Order idea from the Fabian Society or associates of same, and then did not give proper credit, and then after that, attributed the idea to transcendent beings of supernal nature, then a falsehood was perpetrated. Further, if no such transcendent beings actually exist, an even greater falsehood was perpetrated. And as for those who caved during covid, yes, it is a shame, and does not reflect well on their respective organizations. One would hope Mary Baker Eddy would have seen through the facade. Now Alice Bailey is a different matter. In her book Esoteric Healing, she comes out in favor of vaccination. Now of course, that book was written in the late 1940s, so vaccines back then were a different animal from the mRNA injection. But here is one of the main problems I had with Lucis leadership, which I contacted directly via email on this issue. I pointed out that "the Tibetan" who allegedly "dictated" Esoteric Healing could not have been talking about the mRNA injections, for only pathogen based vaccines existed in the 1940s. Lucis leadership would not even explore this point. The absolute top of the organization responded to me on this question with a statement that whatever AAB/The Tibetan wrote in the 1940s applied in 2020 and no further discussion was required. With that, she ended the communication. So, sorry, no, in this case, the founder was actually responsible for the organization's position on the wrong side of the issue.

Jean, I am so with you on this. And you are most welcome. I am delighted we are on the same page about vaccines. Yes, the Bailey books come down on the side of vaccines. Specifically, Esoteric Healing says that vaccines do not harm the etheric body and so there is nothing about which to be worried. The Bailey philosophy holds that the physical body is nothing but an impediment. Only the higher bodies matter, these being the etheric, astral, mental, and causal bodies. So Bailey's "source", the alleged Tibetan Master DK, could say that there is no effect on these more important levels, so just go on and get injected with pathogens because this is the modern thing to do. I now of course know that Bailey's environment while in the TS was saturated with Fabian Society propaganda, which included population reduction and genetic manipulation. Most unfortunately, it sure looks like the Bailey literature urged persons to take medical treatments which were not only absolutely harmful, but likely also tied to a general program of planetary population management that we must not condone.

I so agree. There is no quality of life without a well-functioning physical body. I also think it is nonsense to disregard obvious facts like this. Mother Nature has given us these great bodies and it is our responsibility to care for them correctly. This is a big part of my daily life.
If one only makes an educated guess at what is behind the WEF, one has a fair chance of being correct...
