Thank you very much for sharing this interesting article. I would like to add some research that I consider particularly relevant, as it explores both potential interventions targeting the mechanisms of vitreous degeneration and available ophthalmological treatments.

——1. FLIES clinical trial (2021): antioxidants and vitreous protection.

A randomized, double-blind study involving 61 patients over a six-month period. It investigated a combination of lysine, vitamin C, grape seed extract, zinc, and *Citrus aurantium*. The treatment group showed improvements in visual discomfort and a reduction in the area of vitreous opacities.

Full study:

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8525826/

——2. Plant-derived proteolytic enzymes (2022).

A trial involving 224 patients examined a combination of bromelain, papain, and ficin over a three-month period. Improvements in vitreous opacities were reported; however, these results require confirmation through higher-quality, independent studies.

Full study: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8525826/

——3. 2024 review on the treatment of vitreous opacities ("floaters").

This review analyzes vitreous degeneration and therapeutic alternatives—including YAG laser vitreolysis and vitrectomy—along with their respective benefits, limitations, and risks.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39046174/

——4. American Academy of Ophthalmology clinical guidelines (2025).

An update to the recommendations regarding posterior vitreous detachment, retinal tears, and the prevention of complications that could compromise vision. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39918519/

——5. National Eye Institute. An accessible explanation of how aggregates within the vitreous humor cast shadows on the retina, and when these "floaters" require an ophthalmological evaluation. https://www.nei.nih.gov/eye-health-information/eye-conditions-and-diseases/floaters

——6. 2026 clinical update on posterior vitreous detachment.

A review of the mechanisms of degeneration, diagnosis, follow-up, and therapeutic options. It also notes that clinical evidence regarding antioxidant supplements remains limited.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK563273/

Regarding zeolite, chlorella, and heavy-metal detoxification protocols, there is research on their potential utility in specific cases of exposure to toxic substances; however, clinical trials are required to demonstrate that they can eliminate "floaters" or restore the transparency of the vitreous humor.

Furthermore, I believe it is essential to focus on a healthy diet. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, polyphenols, carotenoids, vitamin C, and other micronutrients provides compounds that contribute to antioxidant defense mechanisms and cellular protection. A varied, minimally processed, and nutritionally balanced plant-based diet can support overall eye health, although it has not yet been shown to specifically prevent or reverse "floaters."

Further research is needed into the role of oxidative stress, glycation, and alterations to the extracellular matrix—specifically the collagen and hyaluronic acid present in the vitreous humor. The key lies in distinguishing between biochemical plausibility and clinical efficacy. The most promising lines of research are not necessarily those that claim to eliminate toxins, but rather those that demonstrate a genuine ability to modify the structure of the affected tissue—always bearing in mind that prevention is better than cure.

Thank you once again for sharing this information and for fostering new avenues of research.

Thank you Guillermou and Unbekoming for all the info. This literally just happened to me 1 month ago...I'm 67, never had floaters when one morning I woke to light flashes, followed by a group of black dots, then a floating cloud. My eye Dr saw them plus a couple hemorrhages, named it PVD (your posterior vitreous detachment described) and sent me to a Retinal specialist who saw vessel damage (from uncontrolled HTN-?), etc...

I was in good health, then Covid came along (I passed on all the vaxes, but worked closely with coworkers and patients that got them all)! I got crazy high blood pressure for the 1st time in my life...I eat well, am of normal weight, active and yet I had episodes of 225/125! For yrs I've been on meds and thought it was controlled, but who knows.

I appreciate all I read on this site, but it feels hard to improve things I feel is an involuntary function or unknown cause, but reading this is hopeful. Incidentally, 2 coworkers and a patient all had eye clots with loss of vision after the covid period. Strange times indeed :(

We have a friend who had the same...the blood clot in eye, with loss of vision, after the jabs. So sad. Did any of the three you know of ever attribute this to the shots? Just curious.

Only to a few coworkers and I (we were the minority that got religious exemptions as shots were required in both the hospital and clinic where I worked). We had coworkers, doctors get sick after every shot, only to go on to get all the boosters! Several have heart issues now and the eye clots...not to mention all the kids and friends that passed and the stage 4 cancers in the young (I did mammograms and we were finding cancers in 28 yr olds!!) My daughters friend is a young mother of 2, sudden stage 4 pancreatic cancer...the list is long. What seemed obvious to some is still unacknowledged in others. Just sad.

Yes…so sad. It’s sad to have researched, warned, then watched and now continue to see so many advanced or devastating diseases/deaths, as you’ve listed.

I took a 6 week heal your vision naturally course with Dr. Ainhoa de Federico and it was a game changer. We are self healing, miraculous, eternal beings and when you see that, it changes everything. Matt is getting hammered by many eye doctors and for good reason. The they don't want us to know just how powerful we are! Love Matt and Andy and Ainhoa, and YOU! Keep on keepin' on, the truth is coming out fast!

I started to put a few drops of DMSO 30% on my eye lids for floaters. Probably used it most nights for about 4 or 5 months. Some of them are gone, but not all. I have had floaters for as long as I can remember. Anyway that’s not the good news. I went for an eye test the other day and my eyesight has improved! Confirmed by the optometrist. So I did think this was the case but thought it sounded crazy. Anyway haven’t used DMSO for a few months as I was travelling. I will definitely go back to using it more regularly.

When you reference other articles, please provide hyperlinks to them.

You reference the second about eyeglasses, which I'm interested in & can't seem to locate....

Been interested in getting full spectrum eyeglasses for awhile, but finding good info has been difficult.

Asked at Costco, but was a no-go.

Normal eye docs & glaucoma docs seen clueless/uninterested.

My comparatively minor floaters started as I was taking Ciprofloxamin. This is probably because it damages collagen. However, I wasn't convinced of the link at the time because my mother developed floaters as she aged. I subsequently was prescribed Ciprofloxamin again and developed severe tendon problems due to an coincidental bout of heavy work, investigation of which exposed the collagen damage risk was known, and as so often with drugs, underestimated. The black box warning on ciprofloxamin should not have said stop taking if you get tendon tenderness, it should have said, YOU MUST NOT DO ANY HEAVY WORK WHILST TAKING THIS MEDICINE. Anyway, the point here is that my collagen damage induced floaters were almost certainly caused by Ciprofloxamin.
