That's totally brilliant. I spent a few years in India in the 1970's and took time to visit a leper's colony/refuge near Wardha in the center of the country. I learned of all the projects going on and was particularly interested in the biogas tanks making cooking gas from the cow manure.
Everything you've said fits my experience of it.
No doubt the toxins you've mentioned were present. I saw liberal use of DDT. It was sprayed on all internal walls, it was available in paper bags at the local shop and the powder was spread in lines along the kitchen benches to keep the ants away. In the orchards it was spread by a hand-wound blower that left the operator so covered in it he would beat clouds of it out of his clothes each time he refilled the apparatus.
The words, 'The Cure is worse than the disease." are so true..Mercury is a very toxic element. In 1938, I remember getting a smallpox shot in order to get into kindergarten. I remember the pain I experienced in my arm; it lasted for days. I read in the 1930s, the smallpox vaccine was known to be responsible for a few cases of autism that surfaced. It is appalling that an industry was permitted to exist, which damaged the health of every recipient by injecting toxic elements directly into the bloodstream. Ignorance is not bliss.
Thank you! I suspected "leprosy" = "skin eruption" = "tuberculosis" = toxins released through the skin. This article ties all the threads together, especially the major role mercury poisoning plays. In India, many people use creams containing mercury to whiten their skin, so it's not surprising that "leprosy" still appears there.
I'm also reminded of the stories of malnourished people who develop "tuberculosis" while living in damp environments. Some recover after moving to a dry home with clean air and begin eating healthy food. Some never recover. For example, St. Bernadette Soubirous received visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1858 in Lourdes, France. She and her family were extremely poor, malnourished, and were crowded into a damp former jail cell that was almost completely underground. She suffered from asthma and tuberculosis. After becoming a nun, she moved to a convent, dying at the young age of 35 of tuberculosis.
I am originally from Belgium. We were told that father Damiaan, the (forced) angel of the leprosy community, lived among the sick for years, while they brought food from Europe. but then they stopped, father Damiaan got sick and finally died with the leprosy.
Yes, being the newest entree in the convent, he was the one to go, he did not volunteer. And he died there on that lone island Molokai. I am not sure how to bind in his story with your article. Is Molokai a bad place, with chemicals that kill? Now I have to look that up.
I visited the Leper Colony on Molokai via mule. And purchased a book about the whole debacle. The book centered on a woman who was sent there as a child and never left. It is extremely remote place. The book mentioned that even once the 'cure' was known it was still 10 more years before the lepers there got it. What could have been the chemical that would bring on the symptoms of leprosy? Did the woman finally get it after the treatments came?
A lot of medical info will probably remain shrouded in mystery. How many diseases in olden times were misdiagnosed? How many 'remedies' were sold to people that did more harm than good? (and still are). Even the life of Damiaan was romanticized to a point not recognizable from truth! Only when the process of beatification was underway, did the truth about his forced going, the stopping of sending food, and his miserable circumstances on the island come to light. It might even be so, that he did not die of leprosy but of something else - we might never know. Just like we do not know what sicknesses were named leprosy in Jesus' time, or in the middle ages. And obviously, we still don't know - that is why Unbekoming is delving it all out. Thanks!
PS I just read on a web site that a part of Molokai has brackish water. If that is where the colony was, they could have been infected by the bad water.
Yes, this does shed new light on the Father Damien story, especially regarding whether he was malnourished or using mercury paste as a treatment. There is a 1999 biographical film called "Molokai: The Story of Father Damien" that portrays him as a volunteer to Molokai. Where did you read that he was not a volunteer?
At the time I was still in Belgium where I originate from. I do not remember exactly who published the article I read. But it was stated that, as the last one who entered the convent, he had to go. See if I can still find any info on it.
The pages that are still available all seem to have him volunteer. But I found this pages on one of the Belgian newspapers, you can copy and paste to translate, it is rather longhttps://www.nieuwsblad.be/binnenland/held-maar-ook-ruziestoker/54225883.html
Father Damiaan seems to have had a difficult character and was rather stubborn. One article states he was not the last entrance, but gives no other name. And all of them are rather religious sites, so won't say anything contrary to the narrative.
and here is a timeline from his birthplace. He was obviously already in Hawaii before he went to Molokai. And he was only 19 at the time he entered the convent, and early 20s when he went there.
Reading this timeline it is almost impossible that he did NOT volunteer. He was only a brother, not a priest and certainly not a doctor when he was on Hawaii. It seems he found out while on the bigger island, that the lepers had to go to Molokai, got priesthood and then went there.
Thank you for such a thorough treatment of the problem. It's not just leprosy. It's every last one of them. The environmental conditions that gave rise to the disease symptoms get remediated prior to the introduction of the related vaccine, which ends up claiming the credit. As Hugh notes, DDT spraying was everywhere in cities from its use in killing mosquitos to fogging children in classrooms for head lice. Before it was banned, lawsuits against Dow Chemical were piling up. It was paralyzing and killing insects, birds, fish, and even kids were suffering from paralysis. Then the polio "virus" was said to be the cause of these cases and was sold as the remedy. Once DDT was banned, few people were suffering from paralysis anymore. Those who did were being poisoned by by the vaccine instead. Dr. Suzanne Humphries' book Dissolving Illusions has all the graphs and charts showing that each disease for which a vaccine was introduced to treat, environmental remediation and better nutrition was already solving the problem before the vaccine came out. Fortunately, there are a lot of books out now that tells the truth about vaccines, but getting people to read them is a problem. Propaganda is so powerful. School system mandates and Child Protective Services keep people from acting through fear tactics.
Wow! The need of experts to have THE answer. Humans use their work to fulfill their psychological needs. So people who become doctors and scientists need to be like priests in the modern world. Priests tell us the story of creation, how the world works. One of the better consequences of COVID is an understanding of the role of narrative in science. People, in the case of leprosy, apparently built a narrative of biologic transmission because it was the intellectual tool of the day. To people with little understanding of science as a process, the whole project is mysterious. Demystifying science, odd as that sounds is needed. And given what human nature is, will likely be needed again…
Malnutrition, living in mold, contaminated water, and also exposure to heavy metals. Mercury has been used in "medicine" since ancient times. I'm reminded of the scene in the Ben-Hur movie when the jailer opens the door to the jail cell where Ben-Hur's mother and sister have been imprisoned for years and they have "leprosy." The sister is later healed by Jesus.
Good question. If you look into alternative history, you might find that biological weapons have been used since ancient years time of Atlantis which is said to be recorded in the Old Testament.
Ill winds after the terrible weapons of the gods are talked about in the Sumerian texts.
The Toltecs were said to be the Atlanteans and had reached heights in technology that we haven’t yet reached today.
I take words literally so I look at the word Toltec Aztec and wonder if that’s where we get the word tech-nology. Close to the word biology which then makes me question the ‘n’ instead of a ‘bi’.
I did a video on an old French book from the 1800s with drawings showing biological warfare taking place.
The problem is translation. The Greek terms like "loimike" were translated as pestilence or pox, later smallpox and or measles. We have NO idea what ailments people had. How often was malnutrition (no Vit C, no B vitamins, lack of selenium, copper, zinc, magnesium, potassium, etc.) the cause of illness? I would say, frequently. Best.
"What is protected is the institutional structure that names the disease, that trains the specialists, that manufactures and distributes the antibiotics, that operates the national leprosaria (Carville, until 1999) and international programs, and that funds the coming vaccine. The bacterium never grown supports a global industry that requires it to exist as an infectious agent."
Same process [ fill in the blanks ] over and over.
Wow - just fantastic. You guys (?) are doing excellent journalism, history, and political science. The fraud of the allopathic model is SO apparent. I noted some "cases" of leprosy in India 10-15 years ago. Just looks like malnutrition and or exposure to toxins, including vaccines and allopathic poisons. Thank you again. Best.

Horrible and tragic!

I think he was a priest because he's called "Father Damien."
He was ordained while already in Hawaii, the information says. I have not found evidence he was a doctor.

Ok, I couldn’t resist. Ology—the study of a science. ‘N’ neutrinos. Technology-Toltecs.
Aztec: a-z technology.
Tol: slang for brother or engineering tolerances.

Fascinating thank you. I see Clofazimine anagrams to:
- ceo Nazi film
- malefic Zion
Tsaraath will become:
- a tat rash
Kari Nielsdatter Spidsøen. if one takes the ø as an 'o', can become:
- art leproid NT skin disease
The last one is particularly significant.
will there ever be a day when you run out of similar stories?

Yet again, it is the terrain, not the bugs! When will people learn this?!
Good morning Unbekoming.
Please define "terrain" as you are using it.
Helpful. Exposing the lies and advancing the truth is always heroic since the establishment is against the truth. . Than you.
What about using Fredricks & Relman’s sequence-based criteria?
