"Grandma keeps taking the pill anyway, because the doctor is very kind and has a nice office and a serious face when he says the long word for what he is doing."

This is literally true for the aging population, and a nontrivial contributing factor in the explosive need for managed care facilities. The cruel irony, is that those facilities then administer unnecessary polypharmacy, uncritically.

Particularly concerning, is the effect of polypharmacy on cognition. The human condition is rife with cruel paradoxes, and this is one of them. Once the capacity for critical thinking has been pharmaceutically dulled, the harms become unavoidable.

I have many examples, but the one that highlights this paradigm the most obviously, is the recent overprescribing-contributory death of a teacher in my family with a hospital administration degree, and the rapid decline of another family member who is a retired psychology professor.

Both had the training and experience to avoid the worst excesses, but their regimens began at a small scale and then their training and experience meant nothing as their critical thinking skills slowly waned.

Examples are everywhere we look, as the boomer generation succumbs en masse.

Quoted from Herbert Shelton: “Poisons are such qualitatively and not merely quantitatively.” [End quote] Article comment: "The proposition is that a substance chemically incompatible with the tissues does not become compatible in a smaller quantity. What changes with a smaller quantity is the speed and extent of the damage. The damage itself is a property of the substance’s relationship to the living organism." True, in spades.

And countless studies have proven that dose *does not correlate to reaction* in a linear manner. In other words; the organism can be reactive to both low levels of substance as well as high levels of same. This is true both in biological/chemical reactions, as well as with electromagnetic induction. No one wishes to address the destruction of *millions of specie* via electromagnetic broadcast. Let's all fall asleep, permanently...

That 6 year old is again genius. I think I will risk the heart attack possibility if ever the doctor comes up with this poison. And reading the interference between drugs, I think I might risk all the other sicknesses with my drawer of herbs and leave the poisons where they belong. Inside the pharmacy. Has any of the poison mixers a clean conscience?

Good piece. Thank you.

And for the sake of late recognition - there was one German MD who delivered the missing answers:

Dr Ryke Geerd Hamer.

Plus he dared to fundamentally criticise the medical system. So, he lost his approbation, got jailed, lost his family etc.

But his insights have never been proven wrong

(regardless what Wikipedia states..)

I saw what drugs did to my mother in the 1980s..They wiped out her brain. I did not believe in drugs before, but seeing the end result first hand was a lesson. I have honed into health and nutrition for 65 years now...and Truth is Simple. It is all about Dis-Ease...what are you doing wrong to create it? The only way one will get better is: Stop doing the things you have done to cause it. I have overcome every health problem by simply finding out what i did to create it. The medical profession has given Dis-Eases thousands of different names, but almost all of it starts from unknowingly...doing something, which causes, both mental and physical problems..

💔 Same, Barbara. Knowing what I know now, I believe that the medical cartel killed both parents. And quite a few other family members.....

I agree with much of the concern here. “Better living through chemistry” has, in many ways, evolved into a medical culture that too often looks for a pill to solve problems rooted in how we live.

I have always been struck by the fact that something as small as a pill can affect the entire body. That alone should make us thoughtful about what we take, why we take it, and for how long.

But I would push back on the idea that medication is simply poisoning by another name. Sometimes medication is necessary, particularly when the alternative is allowing a very real disease process to continue unchecked.

Over the years, I have had many patients tell me, “I don’t want to take medication.” I understand that instinct. But sometimes the same person is fifty pounds overweight, physically deconditioned, sedentary, sleeping poorly, eating poorly, and unwilling to make meaningful changes in any of those areas.

That is where fear can distort the conversation in both directions. We can become afraid of illness and reach too quickly for medication. But we can also become so afraid of medication that we refuse a treatment that may genuinely reduce risk while ignoring the behaviors contributing to the problem.

For me, it comes down to being honest about what is actually going on. Sometimes the biggest problem is the medication. Sometimes it is the illness. And sometimes it is the fact that we would rather fear the pill than change the habits that helped get us there.

Medication should never replace personal responsibility. But personal responsibility also means being honest enough to recognize when lifestyle change alone is not enough.

Medication is a one word anagram of 'decimation'. This is why people fear the pill.

Yes, happen to a friend who almost bleed to death by Warfarin who was never told by his Doctor that this could happen.

Excellent read. Could you send me a link to a piece you have written on 'palliative care', morphine and the death pathway?

On Amiodarone, the fact that a 200mg dose contains 75 mg of iodine atoms does not mean that 75mg of iodine a day is in any way toxic. Amiodarone is a poison - an organoiodine compound, just as organochlorine compounds like DDT are poisons. Writing this means you have not studied the literature yourself, or at least you are asserting something without having checked the facts, this is dangerous. As it is, Japanese on a traditional diet will regularly consume 400mg of iodine a day as kelp seaweed. I would refer you to Guy Abraham's work, where Amiodarone is extensively discussed.

not sure where you got your info but CHOLECALCIFEROL ( "vitamin D") is the current "RODENTICIDE" in poison...and it isn't easy to find that ingredient confessed online fyi. I know this because a doctor told me to take 10000 units of "D" which I did until I started having CALCIUM ROCKS coming out of soft tissue...THEN I researched and found out the truth.

My wife and I enjoy your explanations for a 6 year old. This one had us in stitches! I guess, with the seriousness of the material, we have to laugh to keep from crying or wanting to do something unbecoming to someone.
