Deteurium aka heavy water is H2O with an extra neutron. It weighs more.

Some like Cowan think you need a magic water wand or a pure source of water to avoid deteurium but I looked up the list of what gets rid of deuterium. Carbon filters, electricity applied, and even agitation (no need for the magic wand or schauberg device just stir etc).
I prefer the easiest method- adding a pinch of sea salt which adds conductivity to the water, creating overall localized electrical flows.
This is also why distilled water with no minerals is a problem as it builds up deuterium in storage.
